Navy Helmets...

Watched the Middies against Arizona for about 15 minutes yesterday. Those helmets with the metallic gold stripe next to the anchor were stunning. I'm not one for alternative looks, but those helmets are a keeper.

I said the same thing when I watched the game. The whole uniform and helmet combo reminded me of a navy outfit worn when on land. I'm sure that's the effect they wanted. Pretty snazzy.

I'm having trouble pasting in the picture of this helmet, but here is what I would love to see UConn wear on the gridiron (but slightly darker blue to reflect our true school colors):

Shrink the logo by 1/3 and darken the blue to a midnight blue and then you have something. Or.....shrink it by 1/2, place small decals on individual players helmets(across the bottom back of helmet) representing the bowl games / Big East Championships they participated in during their time at UConn, and again darken the helmet. The Husky dog logo is a definite keeper.

Announcers during Army/Navy game said they were similar to fighter pilot helmets. I miss the unis where they had both the navy and marines markings.

i'll take anything at this point as a changeup. if u go to the kids store at the mall and buy the whole team bracelets with dog bones on them i'll view it as a start.

I really like the red 'carbon fiber' look of Cinci's bowl helmets... that would make a great base color for our helmet with national flag blue... Just sayin...

I agree that a smaller Husky Dog would make that helmet pretty sweet. As long as they don't put slash marks on the helmet like Cincy did for the Belk Bowl. While an interesting idea, I wasn't impressed. I'm thinking the Husky Dog helmet could be an alt helmet like the VTech one with the Hokie on it.
