Jeff Jacobs just tweeted that UConn has begun a national search for a new AD. Pendergast has withdrawn his name from consideration but will remain at UConn as a fundraiser.

Thank goodness Susan Herbst will have the last say on this one.

i like this. hopefully we get some 1 that turns out a good pick but PPen is def a good guy that can get the $$, glad to have him in that spot. his local ties and long career should really pay off for us in the long run.

Without any ill will toward Mr. Prendergast, and all the good he has done, I also like this move.

There are still certain aspects of the AD, and university for that matter, that are not at the national level. Another AQ level AD or assistant AD would the bill.nicely.

Good move by President Herbst. Usually when an acting guy announces he won't apply for one of these jobs, it means he has been told he isn't going to get it. I think his Pledge of Allegiance thing looked kind of small time and that hurt him. His fundrasing skills are going to be a great help though.

I am glad Pendergast will still be on at UConn as a fundraiser which was a sore point since he left for the private sector.
