OT: National One Hit Wonder Day

1 hit wonders or actual #1 on the charts? Top ten? The Grateful Dead only had one top ten single..touch of grey 1998. Tom tom club genius of love #1 euro dance charts 1989...?

Chubby had another good hit though - "Let's Twist Again" which charted at #3 in the US:
Chubby also did "Limbo Rock", "Let's Limbo Again", and released "The Twist" in 1960 and again in 1962. He got the most out of his music. His "one hits" were hits again and again. BTW, he is the father of Misty Bass who played some good basketball for GG at Duke.

Sticking with that theme...

Little known fact it was actually written for the Monkeys. They thought it was to schlocky and refused to do it. It became a number one hit.

Suzanne Vega. Luka. Song about child abuse makes me weep. She was so beautiful, still is although like all of us she's aged. Cool factoid, she's Vincent Vega's cousin.

yes, she is quite pretty with that shoulder length hair. hard to believe this came out in 1987 off the Solitude Standing album which i thought was terrific.

That's ridiculous. Chubby Checker had many hits though I wasn't the biggest fan. To call him a one hit wonder is ludicrous.
"The Twist" topped Billboard's list of the most popular singles [ever] to have appeared in the Hot 100 .. Chubby's other so-called hits merely capitalised on the enormous fame of "The Twist", i.e. they were not 'true' hits, eh?
Chubby Checker IS "The Twist"...
