National Championship Game

Quick question. Would you rather UConn make the championship game and lose, or not make the championship game?

Personally, I like that they are 6–0 in the championship game. Other programs of interest have the following records in NC games.

UCLA 11–2
Kentucky 8–4
Kansas 4–6
UNC 6–6
Duke 5–6
Make the championship game and play to win.

If you lose in the semifinals the season is still ending with a loss.

Looking at you figures even though the 6 - 0 is impressive I would much rather be 11 -2.

Not at all. My first sentence answered the question.

6-0 is better than 5-6.

not sure what your point is. Of course 6-0 because that is two more championships.

I would also rather have UCONN be 10 -10 because that is ten championships rather than 6.

Ironically, you could make a good argument that the reason Duke has lost six times in the NC game is because they recruit too many of the best high school players! (Experience more often than not prevails over one-and-doneness in the Final Four.)

Six wins with no losses in the title game is better than any option with fewer than six wins.

I'm quite sure if I would prefer to be sitting at six wins and seven losses in the title game at the moment; with the 1990, 1994, 1995, 1998, 2002, 2006 & 2009 seasons all ending on the final Monday of the season. I don't see how having each of those seasons last an extra game, two games, three games (where applicable) could possibly be a negative.
