They beat Northeastern today 6-0.

Looking at their schedule they don't play some of the usual suspects ranked in the top 10 like Maryland, UNC, Syracuse, Penn State, Albany etc. Their toughest games (Stanford, BC, Old Dominion, Princeton) are at home. They could possibly go through the regular season undefeated.

With the exception of Boston College, the UConn field hockey team rarely ever plays ACC teams in the regular season. If UConn does play a non Boston College ACC team during the regular season, the game seems to be invariably at a neutral site. I have no idea why this is so. The only idea I come up with is that the ACC is by far the toughest field hockey conference by far year in and year out, and these teams may feel that their schedules are already so tough having to play the other ACC teams that they just don't want to add another top program like UConn to their schedules.
