Napheesa Collier is almost exactly like Stewie. She is the tallest kid on her team at 6’1” and is a prolific scorer & rebounder. She is also the focus of the defense against every team Incarnate Word plays. Collier is fouled, grabbed, pushed, elbowed and double & triple teamed. Just like Stewie. Consider her stats:
1. Collier has scored 797 points in 30 games, a 26.6 pt average. Another kid is averaging 12.3 pts, then a third is at 5.9 per game. If you want beat the Red Knights, shut down Collier. But they can’t..! Napheesa shoots 71% from the field on 448 shots and 80% from the free throw line (154-192). How much do other teams beat up on Collier? She leads the team in free throw attempts w/ 192, more than the next four players combined..!!
2. Napheesa is also like MoJeff. She leads the team w/ 125 steals. The next two kids have 111 combined. She also has 80 assists, 2nd on the team. Her assist-to-turnover ratio is right around 3, just like MoJeff. She takes good care of the ball.
3. Candidly, when it comes to blocking shots, she is kind of like Kiah Stokes. Collier has 126 blocks for a 4.2 per game average. One of her team mates has 16 blocks, 2nd most on the team. And Napheesa blocks shots from kids she isn’t even covering, with both hands, just like Kiah.
4. Collier leads the team in rebounding, as well as everything else. She has great hops, kind of like Gabby Williams. Her 156 offensive rebounds leads the team by 120. Many of those rebounds go right back up for easy points. Just like Gabby. At the defensive end, her 229 rebounds are almost 150 better than the next player. That’s 385 rebounds in 30 games..!!
So basically, UConn is getting a player who scores like Stewie, assists & steals like Jefferson, blocks shots like Stokes and jumps like Gabby.
Oh, and she is humble, well spoken and a team player. Wow..!!
Go Huskies..!!
P.S. Don't even mention the competition is only in high school. She dominated on Team USA w/ Wilson from S. Carolina & Turner from N.D.
