They're not naming the bathrooms???
I know a few people or institutions/whose names I’d pay to see on a toilet. I think at least one should be name the Duke Puke bowl.

Go Amy & everyone @ The UConn Foundation!

Yancey has a proven track record of building momentum and achieving increasing levels of philanthropic support as a senior leader of institutional advancement. Before coming to the Foundation in January 2024, Yancey was vice president for development at Boston College, overseeing fundraising for financial aid, the student and athletic experience, and academic programs. Previously, Yancey served on the senior leadership team at the University of Virginia, and led fundraising teams at Pennsylvania State University and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s degree in plant sciences and agricultural economics.

Final Four Indy 2026

It's time the UConn Foundation brought in some serious money and this new CEO should be given three years to get things moving and show meaningful results or get someone who can.
It's pathetic for the UConn Foundation to show total assets of only $668 million in FY2025 while UMass has $1.8 billion, Vermont $835 million, Quinnippiac $770 million, New Hampshire $577 million, Maine $411 million, URI 287.6 million, and, little Hillsdale College in Michigan with about 2,000 students has a little over $1 billion.
Based on the proposed cost of naming rights she must be hoping the athletic department will make her job easier.

This post is basically useless, shouting at the rain, w/o posting what you donate ... and having others do the same

Ran across recent report that 85% of UConn Alums have NEVER, EVER donated a dime ... can you confirm?

How much is this OUR job, rather than (often the easier path of) pointing at others?

I have to admit I don't give as much as I should. I became a life member with a one-time donation way back when I graduated and I get a new calendar every year. I really don't receive any other requests from UConn. UConn should send more requests out. There should be a catalogue with items to choose from where half the proceeds go to the UConn Foundation.

Now with NIL such a priority the UConn Foundation may struggle more.

How much is this OUR job
Virtually none of it. You are absolutely right that ultimately it is the alumni, mostly, who ultimately fund the endowment, but it's not our job to make sure the university is adequately endowed.

I'm involved with a few charitable entities. If the individual or individuals who are responsible for engagement blamed donors for a lack of productivity, they wouldn't be in that position for very long.

If you have hoop, football or hockey season tickets you donate with every season purchase, don’t you? I know I do for hockey. They kind of make it mandatory, but I don’t mind it.

I know there have been many posts about the endowment. Are donations to the Athletic Fund included in and help grow the Endowment? I thought they were separate. Even if that is the case though, any donation helps.

The powers that be are dropping the ball if they do not create a bidding war between, Roto-Rooter, Mr. Rooter and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.

If the donations to the Athletic Fund are specified as an endowed donation they are included.

How about the funds attached to season tickets. I'd imagine the funds are probably used as they are collected so they wouldn't increase the endowment anyway
