Going to be in Mystic for weekend. Does anyone know of a good sports bar in that area to watch UConn game. Any help greatly appreciated. Big game, Go Huskies

Outside of the casinos?

Not a sports bar, but in Stonington I would go to the Dogwatch. It will be on TV if you ask for it. In Westerly just across the state line is CC O'Briens. Might be some in Groton and in New London too but that is not where I hang out in the warm weather.

The Engine Room isn't a sports bar per se, but it does have a bunch of TVs with great beer and food. On a Saturday in the all it's usually got college football on all the screens.

Thanks for info guys. Looking to stay in Mystic if possible, women want to shop ,
guys want to watch football. This way kill 2 birds with 1 stone, plus I don't have to go shopping. The perfect day. Any other suggestions welcome.

If you are craft beer fans stop into Beer'd in Stonington while you are right in the area. Only 5-10 minutes from downtown Mystic. That won't help you for football though as they don't have TV's. For football I'd agree with the Engine Room or even the Margaritas bar but pretty limited options within the city.

Margarita's is probably your best bet.. or Noca, R36 has a good bar to watch games but not alot of tv.. but if you are in the area, buffalo wild wings at crystal mall (waterford)..Or Arooga's by mohegan sun.. just opened up, and ive been hearing good things about it.

Thanks everyone for all info. Gives me plenty of good options. So no shopping and a UConn win , would make it the perfect day for me.

Arooga's was GREAT for March Madness.

Margaritas is the best bet. There's a bar that right downtown used to be called 41 North too.

I grew up in that area, in Downtown Mystic I'd say Engine Room. But locally CC's in Pawcatuck is the only real true sports bar in the area. Then after that over in Westerly (you can walk from CC's) there's 84 Tavern on Canal which has amazing food and TV's, a great bar too.

Angie's pier 27 bar is pretty good you can hang with all the local " old salts", located down by the train station , pizza pretty good too.

Also, check out an Irish bar called the Harp and Hound. I lived above it for three years, and I still rue the day that I moved out. As long as there is not a Premier League match, you should be good to go. It is at 4 Pearl St., right in the heart of downtown.

Was that 84 High St before they moved? That is good!
