With all the feel good love pouring out for our Huskies and KO, is there any chance we could make a late run at Myles Turner?? I feel like we're fine w Nolan and Brimah assume they both spend all summer getting stronger and improving their offensive skills, but this guy would sure look good in national flag blue and white....
 
Turner wants to stay close to home.
 
Turner's parents have stated they want him at a school that is close enough to drive to to see his games.
 
2014 is pretty much a closed book at this point. I think the immediate impact of this championship will be felt in 2015 and 2016 recruiting efforts.

I was thinking this too. If DD now jumps to the NBA would KO come calling. I heard earlier that he wanted to stay close to home but the most recent article I read he said that he is wide open and wouldn't rule anyone out.
 
It would be nice if we could parlay this into locking up 1-2 bigs from '15 soon. Govan?

What would everyone's thoughts be on Chris Obepka? He's transferring from STJ, we wanted him before, his friend OMAR is on they team.

Could he step in if DD left? Would Obepka, Brimah, and Nolan be our Okafor, Boone, Armstrong? How about a beastly paint game with those 4 guards and 1 wing man?

Obepka would have to sit out a year. If anything I think Ollie will be looking for a transfer that can play right away or try to snag a top recruit similar to how we got Deandre after the 2011 title.

He's in our territory. If it's true he wants to stay in the Northeast, we just need to beat Cuse. Imagine what 15-16 would look like with this kid, and I hope KO starts selling that vision hard.
 
Myles Turner needs to play for Larry Brown at SMU.

Their team + Mudiay and Turner, would be crazy good.

Joel Embiid from Kansas announced he is going pro. Embiid had been wavering. From the sounds of Turner's recruitment was, if Embiid stayed, Turner would go elsewhere, but if Embiid declared Turner was almost a lock for Kansas. I expect Turner to join Oubre & Alexander in what could be a very powerful frontline at Kansas.

Duke will be nasty next year especially if Parker stays.
 
If DD leaves look for an immediately eligible transfer, ala Evans and Kromah, Turner and Opeka aint happening.
 
How about Duke next year? First the first time in a long time they will have the most athletic team in the country and they'll go 10 deep. Got to be the preason #1. I like our chances of being top 5 preason if dd and boat come back.

they will be very dangerous if parker stays , even still without him. but if DD and Boat stay , our backcourt , which was our strentgh last year , could be even better, we should be top 5 no doubt, i really think Calhoun has big comeback season next year , the depth will be crazy.

Coach K doesn't have enough energy to develop talent anymore. he has now turned into an elite recruiter. will attempt to just trot out 18 year olds to win games. The Plumlees were what 4 year players at duke, both have developed a gazillion times more in just one year in the league. I'm trying to think of duke talent in the nba, dont consider Irving a duke product. Deng i guess, although it was for a quick year. I guess fake kobe gerald henderson or JJ. I remember demarcus nelson was a very highly touted high school product, ended up nowhere after 4 years.

jj redrick was a crazy surprise right? Did you ever think he'd be starting in the nba 10 years after he left? Crazy. Do you u consider McRoberts a duke product? Hes been productive lately...

Their primary talent will be freshmen though. And Sulamain. I won't believe Parker is returning until the date to declare passes. I just don't see it.

Yeah i actually love mcroberts, mainly because I've turned into a bobcats fan via league pass. At the end of the day he was an extremely hyped hs player, and only now is reaching his potential as a rotation stretch 4. developed terrible habits at duke only his recently find his niche , years into his career professionally. Mcroberts has had some absurd statlines this year, entertaining player. too poor defensively for me to want to start him @ the 4 long term.

They will be my pick for number one if Parker returns but the notion that they will be the most athletic team is way off. Nether Jones or Okafor are known for their athleticism. They should be very good though, I like Sulaimon and Cook is way better off ball. Winslow could be a wildcard at the 3. Great athlete.

i agree with all that, but cook is trash. saw him in person , looks like a hs player in a duke uniform. shouldnt be starting for duke if they are so called elite. tyus jones is getting a lot of hype, wonder if he can really play like jason kidd.

the only one who would be a plus athlete in their lineup is Winslow
 
If Parker departs, I think you'll see a very similar Duke team to what you saw last year - a lot of talent, but also a lot of inconsistency.
