If the kid has talent bring him aboard (unless he is a bad apple). Sometimes a change of scenery makes a difference. Next year our top 4 wide receivers graduate, and our current #3 receiver is a converted RB. We could use another receiver.

The fact that he was a bad gurl is more than enough reason to pass on him.

K - did you read this part of article: http://www.nj.com/rutgersfootball/i...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

We have only one senior walk-on in our receiving crew... Sounds like he doesn't like to be deep on a depth chart.

Gotta wonder why he didn't clck...
He was the fastest kid of the team and very popular...a real good kid who loved RU but the kids size(5'8") wasn't as much the issue as his inability to hang on to the ball?I and most others think he'd fit best in a spread WVU type O!Combine that with Janarius Grant winning his KR/PR spot as a true frosh, dropping to the 3rd string and the abundance of 4* type WRs coming in he saw the writing on the wall and RU is running out of schollys(3/4)!!I think he'd be a good addition to any team lacking a burner!Good grades and character guy!

Why do you say a young man who hasn't been able to see the field at Rutgers can definitely help us?

If he fumbles he would help the opponents. But our strength and conditioning coaches are pretty good, they might be able to fix that.

Appears to be a good kid, athlete and student who got behind on the depth chart. So if you think he can help you bring him in. Don't see it as more complicated than that.

Miles Shuler has seen playing time as a Freshman and as a Sophomore. The receiving core Rutgers had for the past few years were all great players, Mohamed Sanu, Mark Harrison, Brandon Coleman, Tim Wright, etc... It was obvious he wasn't going to see too much playing time behind these receivers. Miles Shuler was going to see a lot of playing time this year, he maybe wanted to go somewhere else.

He'd have a leg up on any high school kid coming in because of his time served already in D-1 but.... how much time will he be able to contribute to UConn? One year? What recruits are lined up(committed) that play wide receiver next year? The year after? If he's not a problem child the year he sits out could be a blessing even if he only had a year left of eligibility. The staff could help him grow a set of hands.

Im pretty sure he has 2 years of eligibility left and outside of questionable hands (which could be fixed) with his good grades and character maybe needs a change of scenery and could possibly thrive and be motivated to show RU what they overlooked?Reminds me of RUs Tim Brown but a little (1")taller!

Miles is not 5'8. He is 5'11. He is a burner but doesn't have wiggle and really struggled to improve his hands. IMO he is best utilized as a KOR man and should redshirt wherever he goes and move to CB. He also needs to thicken up as he doesn't look much different from his freshman year. Great kid though and will most likely go to an academic school in California (Cal, Stanford, UCLA). Our WR depth is getting insanely good and he got passed by in August.

Is he?I seen him standing next to Savon Huggins 5'10" and he looked a shade shorter with helmets off?I've seen others in the NJ press also comment on his diminuative (comparatively) size for WR?Is he taller than Mason Robinson?

FIFY.

Coleman, Caroo, Pratt, and Peele were ahead of him at a minimum - and there may have been others.
