Any idea who he is? Just curious.

This proves the age old conundrum: there are thousands of kids in this country that are 6'4" and above. Only a % of them are athletic enough to play college ball or pro ball.
But we freak out when we see one of them in the wild. Where are they hiding?

Similar story: when I was at UConn I was always at the bars. There were 20k kids on campus yet I only saw the same 100 people at the bars on thursdays and weekends. What do the other 19,900 do with their evenings? ......Maybe they're hanging out with Brody Adams

Isn’t the enthusiasm of this sighting based on that player clearly being well over 7 feet tall on sight? I doubt there are even hundreds of kids his height in North America.

I don't get it. I don't see many 7'9" kids because there are likely no more than a 1/2 dozen in the world. I did meet Manute Bol once though.

I said 6'4" and above. There are over 2 million people (women and men) in this country 18 years or older who are this tall. I rarely see them.
Nevermind, I shouldn't be on here at 5 a.m. central time Anyway. I need to take care of my kids.

Right, but have you ever seen someone 6’4”-6’6” (probably the heights of the vast majority of the 2 million you grouped together) in a crowded airport and thought to yourself, “I need to stop and take a picture because of how absurdly tall he is so I can learn more about him later”? The reason this photo was taken has nothing to do with the arbitrary group you came up with. It’s because he is an extremely rare 99.9th percentile in height human being.

Not sure if it is just the (quality of the) pic but he has a really elongated head!

When I lived in Mexico a guy was living at the same apartment complex who was 7"8 or so, skinny as all hell, but just so tall. He played for the local team in Monterrey for a while. Saw him a lot and I regret not taking a pic. I didn't want to be yet another guy who bothered him as I am sure people stopped him all the time for a pic. (edit: This guy: Mamadou N'Diaye (basketball, born 1993) - Wikipedia --- I think I even went to one of the two games he played in).
