Mullins, Khamenia, and Silas

I wouldn't say no problem. NBA hype and Duke heroics aside. A healthy Ball was likely going our best offensive player. Despite his injury affected shooting percentage, you saw him get better all season both in ball handling, defense, and getting inside.

There was a certain redundancy with Mullins that worked to our benefit, if one of having an off night the other was likely filling the gap. That's gone. We will see how the other guards are played, if they shoot well enough to open the inside.

The decision making will be easier but we won't be better squad without him.

I love Solo and defended him all year when others trashed him, but he certainly was not going to be our best offensive player this season

Has UConn ever had a player who averaged 25+ points a game??
 
Mullins is averaging 20 on 4-5 made 3s per game

No 3 point shot then, so he could have exceeded that ppg since many of his shots were from 3 point range. However, he was playing in the Yankee Conference, a New England based conference and as I remember the OOC games were against Syracuse, Rutgers, AIC, PC and BC.

Just raise up moments to 45 points a game, boom there's your extra 20 points.

I can see Mullins at 18-20(25 means we don't have much other offense), Silas at 15 but to think Khamenia is going to make that jump is unrealistic. Probably closer to 10-12.

Well probably not 18 but I think the 10-12 range in our offense is realistic. He won't be exact replica like Karaban. Mullins is going to be getting more shots and be the go to guy.

He should as he averaged 6 points at Duke primarily coming off the bench. Once he got starter minutes he was closer to 11 points. I think he would be in that 10-12 range if he is getting starter minutes.

I believe in Dan Hurley. He is my deity (ha). He will come up with players and a solution. Yes, I absolutely agree that Solo would have been top 2 with Mullins to lead us in scoring so this loss is huge, but let’s not sell Danny short here. With another good portal 2 guard and hopeful contribution from others we will be ok.
Question about the young Ross kid. What is his position and skill level and potential?
 
I expect Khamenia to average about 10-11 per game. But we absolutely need another scorer for next season in addition to a second big.

It's not much of a stretch. Just projecting his minutes out to 26/gm gets you to 7.5. Add in a reasonable freshman/sophomore improvement, and 10 seems more than reachable.

We are bringing on a highly ranked kid to get 30 minutes pg, with a reputation as a shooter. If you don’t think he’s averaging 12ish pts a game you’re nuts. He’s a starter in a scorers role.

The only question I have at this point is whether the staff intends on playing NK exclusively at the 4 and how will they back it up. We’ll know they’ll get a shooter, backup PG and C. My biggest question is around the 4. I’m not even going to try and guess.

If they bring in a 2G to start we know it’s a yes. If they bring a 4 in, we know it’s a no.
 
# 15 ranked recruit? Boozer was getting all the shots. Let’s not forget too that Solo was benched a lot with fouls and injury we now know about. Our offense was very good even when Karaban didn’t make shots. This is a new team but trust our coach, he will come through.
