Muhl's admission her WNBA skillset is wanting

Half the battle is knowing what you need to work on. The other half is putting in the work. She's good on both halves, so now it's up to her eventual skillset vs. the rest of the league's to dictate playing time. No matter how it ends up, I'm a fan.
 
I think her ceiling in the WNBA is as a 3 and D off the bench. She can definitely play in Europe and likely receive some very nice money.
 
You know, you look at a player like her - great attitude, hard worker, willing to do what is needed to get better, and of course can't help but root for her. There are a ton of more celebrated college players who were more highly drafted, who couldn't, or wouldn't, work on what was needed to make it in the W, and they flamed out.

Kiah Stokes might be one of the very few players who is one dimensional in the WNBA, and have really made it. Most other players can't just be really good at defense. And as a PG, even if you are a prolific assist maker, and a defensive menace, you still need to be able to score.

If anyone can do it with heart and desire, it's Nika. Rooting for her big time!!

There is also the example of Ticha Penicheiro who was not offensively-minded either. Granted Penicheiro flourished at a time when there was less competition and when the style of play suited her.

Nika does have to and undoubtedly will learn skills to become an effective fifth scorer, to add to the skills that already sets her apart: a pace-pushing point guard and defensive specialist.

There are so many one dimensional WNBA players who only care about putting the ball in the hoop and complaining to the refs whenever they impede that. I agree here that Kiah has succeeded being one dimensionally defensively and I think you're on to something. If you're going to be on dimensional, that dimension better be out of this world. Kiah has thrived being a defensive specialist and Nika will get time if she amplifies this.

Her mentality needs to be "no guard will score on me," and Noelle Quinn will have no choice but to play her.

Given she had two great defensive plays against Arike last game, I’d say she’s working her way into a real defensive menace that you can’t waive.

Kiah has multiple talents. Elite shotblocker, elite rebounder, elite athlete. I’d take her on any team I had.
 
This article is definitely clickbait and trying to stir up drama. The misconstrued quote is from the WNBA Year 1 acclimation episode 1. The video covers four rookies, and while Nika admits she needs to improve her skills, she also talks about embracing her time in Seattle. I've attached the vid below, which is also on YouTube.
Year 1, Acclimating
I am glad the WNBA is finally doing this. I believe Nika's pov is from the perspective of a 2nd round draftee on a winning team.
 
For what it's worth, I heard Nika's statement as being less an admission of lacking skills, per se, and more as a commitment to grow. Any first year WNBA player who asserts that she has all the skills she needs and has everything all figured out probably is kidding herself.

Doesn’t, in any way, diminish what she has done or accomplished. They’re doing pretty good now that they have some chemistry. Future looks bright for them.

Also, to your point, she also has a lot to learn. She will be a monster in a couple years. Her and Angel have done bang up stuff so far.

Fully agree. Both Clark and Reese, but Clark in particular, has been great for drawing eyeballs to the WNBA, just as she did to NCAA women's basketball. I fully expect WNBA to make a major leap over the next few years given all the good young talent and the kids that will come over from college.
