In California, they used to have a policy, with respect to high school, that a freshman would be allowed to transfer after one year with no games lost. Usually they had to sit until January 1. I think this would be a good policy. It would allow a freshman an out if they realized they fell into a situation they were not happy with. It would also make coaches more accountable for promises made that they had no intention of keeping.
If they changed the rules that every player got one free transfer, Muffet might lose half her roster season after the behavior she displayed this season.

If the projected new rule was in effect, Muffet would have taken in 3 or 4 transfers to replace those that she lost last year. Not blaming her, if the Rules allowed it she like so many others will take advantage of the Rule. ND would have a winning record with additional quality transfers. ND like some other programs will easily be able to recruit/poach players from other teams. Probably some will be players they passed on in recruiting.
