msu offers snider

This is how the dominoes are falling after Mudiay picked SMU over Squid.

Basically, Squid was all-in for Mudiay. Once the kid picked SMU, Squid moved onto Ellis, who had been considered a strong lean for Sparty. But now he's a toss-up, so Izzo is scrambling, and will go all-in for Snider if Ullis goes with Squid.

So in short, if KO lands this kid it'll be huge from a "UConn's reach" perspective. We haven't traditionally gone head-to-head with the likes of Indiana, Michigan State and the other big midwestern schools for a kid in their neighborhood and come out with the signature. Only Carolina and Duke, really, have done that.

Once Ullis commits, Snider is the highest-rated PG on the board. It's gonna be a dogfight to land him.

Izzo late to the party hoping he can convince Snider, "your our guy". Kids have to see right through that pitch. Don't they? It's crazy how much salesmanship is required in coaching.

Not worried. Just talking

i didn't mean it like that. just that if people come into this thread and claim its over, cause msu offered this kid. i think he ends up here

That is sort of interesting how the Midwest hasn't been a fertile area for us. We've gone South into ACC/SEC turf, into Texas/Louisiana, and out West with regularity. But not really B1G Country.

Digging through the memory banks, we have gotten a couple, but seems like they were either unique cases (Khalid was a late decommit from Minny, Caron was a troubled kid who went to MCI and wanted to get away from the trappings of home) or not really sought after by B1G schools (Boat, Marcus White, Lyman).
