This is two threads where people have goofed up Cuevas. This one on identity and the other on...of all things...name pronunciation. Can we get a third one?

Last night I thought it was Tina Roy that was juked.

Those 3 plays (the one in the pix above, the one with Tina Roy and the third where MoJett run with the ball faster than the other 9 players on the court) were all highlights of skill and level which are rarely seen in any WBB game and to have 1 player do 3 in one game was crazy!

I am greatly enjoying the replays of the game.

Not as much as I did watching it in real time, but still pretty freaking amazing!

Wasn't it Tina Roy who got schooled on Moriah's shockingly sick hesitation/restart penetration move to go in for an uncontested layup?

I thought so but wondered if the above pics were that play. But now see the above pics were right side of key.

Ok...I was right.

The kid is a freshman. She'll get better.

She's had a hard life and comes from the Bronx. Tough, tough place to come from. I like her.

I like hear too…and the Bronx is really tough…taught there 10 years.
But the home-schooled 8th grader really took her to class.:)

It'll be interesting to see what happens if UCONN plays Princeton. I think Princeton's guards match up pretty well with UCONN's.

I remember seeing a high school tape of her and thinking the one thing a highlight tape can't exaggerate (unlike 100% shooting), and that's ball handling. She did some things that were over the top ankle breaking and it's no surprise to see her do the same in college. Great ball skills and body control.

On Moriah's coast-to-coast layup in the second half, I watched on replay and it appeared that she started a couple of steps behind Cuevas, passed her at mid-court, and was 2 to 3 steps ahead before she pulled up for the layup. Both she and Cuevas appeared to be going at top speed.

I wonder if Moriah is really that much faster in a straight sprint than Bianca, or if fatigue at that stage of the game (as well as the effect of losing the game) was a factor for Bianca in that race.

I agree that Cuevas will be a major force by the time she is a junior. Likewise, Moriah as a freshman could never have played the game that she played on Monday night.

It was an awful short meeting between the two. Perhaps Ms. Jefferson can take Ms. Cuevas out for a cup of coffee one day.
