I want this championship for what it will do for the future of our program. Two in a row and three titles in 10 years would make us the clear top program in America and the top destination for top recruits and portal players for years to come. Other years I treated a championship as a major accomplishment, but this year it would be also be a statement.

The key narrative would be less "3 titles in 11 years" (because 4 in 14 is more impressive anyway) and more reestablishing ourselves as the preeminent program in the 2020s, with a new coach who's going to be here a while, and having survived the conference realignment s___show.

Good analysis. The Final Fours before 1976 basically don't count, and the ones before 1964 definitely don't count.

Back to back
3 in the last 11
The most since the tournament went to 64 teams
The best coach in America and the biggest program in the northeast

The new blue blood. The premier program. The one that matters
