Mountain West tournament (Mar. 1-4)

Bad marketing on the part of the MWC. Why not an earlier start as a consideration for reaching a broader audience? Maybe it had to do with CBS schedule and the MWC was just happy to get picked up? Sigh... I guess I’ll watch anyway...
The MW men's tournament starts today in the same arena, and I suspect they intentionally gave their prime time slot to the last of the three men's games.

The men’s games must’ve run a bit over. This game is running about 10-15 minutes late.

@TheFarmFan ’s favorite ref is working this game :p

Fresno State is trying to make the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2014. Boise Stare is trying for four appearances in a row.

As alluded to by @triaddukefan in another thread, there are a fair amount of yellow-clad Wyoming fans who came out despite their team’s loss last night.

We just switched from Fios/Frontier to Xfinity. We had CBSSN, now we don't. Kinda bummed. I would definitely have checked out this game. Doesn't look like I can stream it either.

McGwire just picked up a 2nd foul. It’s an exciting game so far. Both teams hitting 3s in the early going.

.-.
Good to see McGwire again after watching her Freshman year at Oregon. This is one of the few times I'm rooting for Boise State when they are playing a west coast team.

Cavinder twins are really impressive.
Amazing how many quality twins we have playing in the west. Lexie and Lacie Hull for Stanford, Jenna and LeeAnne Wirth for Gonzaga, and these Cavender twins at Fresno. Looks like all are making it to the tourney and Zags/Trees will be hosting the first round.

The Zags have 2 sets of twins. Kayleigh and Kaylnne Truong are a pair of Fr. guards. I haven't seen them much this year but their fans are excited about their potential.

Are they identical twins as well? I think the other 3 all are

Jade Loville's jumper has been automatic for Boise State. Beautiful lefty mid-range jumper.
And she’s the one who came in for McGwire due to foul trouble.

I haven’t watched a ton of Boise State this season, but of the several games I’ve seen this is by far the best they’ve played.

I still can’t understand how BSU, with this much talent and also good size, had such a mediocre regular season.

Okay time for a weird comment. I’m watching this halftime show with all the cheerleaders and mascots of the Mountain West and I don’t think I’ve ever seen on any other team this weird brownish color that combines with the yellow of Wyoming. It’s like that ugly tannish greenish brown color that all the 1970s living rooms used to have.

Overtime!

Fresno State did a great job to fight back and take the lead, but the Cavinder twins forced too many drives on key possessions down the stretch. They went down by 3, and then tied it on a 3 by one of the Cavinders.

Great game.

Dramatic finish, heroic effort but, yeah, her toe slid out of bounds before the shot.

And apparently a time out was called when they had none as well? Bizarre ending to a great game.

Fresno State is a very good fit for the Cavinder twins.

That wasn’t the call. They said FSU tried to call a timeout when they were out of timeouts. That’s why it was a technical.

Weird ending to an otherwise great game.

Ok...the Chris Webber loss.

Ha yes exactly.

The coach didn’t really argue it too hard, so it must have been true. I wonder who called timeout. It sure wasnt Gamez, who had the ball ant was taking a shot. HUGE mental mistake by whoever called it.

That's a tough way to lose...

It's a bad color combo, but it's our bad color combo. I miss the old Wyoming hat that I used to have. Hope that we get to host in the WNIT and make some teams face the altitude.

The story of the conference has definitely been San Jose State. Not that long ago, the lack of any kind of school spirit, local engagement, or success in any sport made them a textbook case for dropping football and D1 sports, but they have gone in the opposite direction and started spending on facilities. I guess we will give them a few years to see where this goes.

Happened to my son’s team in the last few seconds of league championship game. Time out called when they had none left. Technical

Darn... I wanted Fresno State to win
