Pretty big drop-off from #10 to #11, but still good to see:

I'm shocked to see how out ahead of the group Louisville is.

Shocked to see Wisconsin so high, Michigan so low and Nova no where in site
Minnesota? Illinois? South Florida? where the hell did these come from?????

I assume the author misread the figures and the South Florida amount is actually in yen and not dollars?

Every. Single. Year. A Louisville fan posts one of these value rankings to Reddit and the same discussion happens. I just don't buy their numbers for a second, they make no sense and if you look into their deal with the Yum Center it's clear their are some very favorable (to the point that it's fishy) terms on their deal. They've also been known to fudge their sales numbers.

In my opinion, it's little brother Louisville fans' way of helping their egos while living in the shadow of UK.

Do any of those schools have pro sports teams near them that people focus more of their time on than the college team? Knicks mets Yankees nets Giants jets bills Rangers islanders celtics Bruins sox patriots. Even the phill teams

I wonder if they deducted the money paid by the program to hookers.

Don't know the metrics, but I'm guessing UCONN's dollar figure would be a fair bit higher in a P5?
I'd have to imagine so, yeah. Only 1 other non-P5 team in the top 25 is pretty revealing.

It appears we the only New England team and highest ranked East Coast team. Football its your turn!

Posted elsewhere in more detail; but, basically, to lure the Cardinals to the Yum Center in downtown from their prior home int he fairground, the agency responsible for the Yum Center basically offered a deal whereby Louisville Basketball only has to pay for the game day costs at the arena (not sure if game day costs includes escort services or not) while they retain a vast majority of ticket and concession sales. While they are the primary tenant and benefactor of the Yum Center, the University does not have to pay any additional fee (which is what UConn does at the XL), which would typically go toward other expenses, such a debt service. Currently, the Yum Center has just under $350 million in debt that generates an annual debt service payment of $22 million, which is scheduled to escalate over time. The Yum Center has bond rating of Ba3, which is junk bond level. This explains how in 2013, the University made $27 million in profit from basketball operations while the city was a tad under $10 million in debt with respect to the Yum Center's operating costs, which include debt service. So, for all intent, the tax payers of the city of Louisville are significantly subsidizing the profits made by the University's basketball program

Probably some UK fans contribute to this, but Louisville has been the highest rated college basketball TV market 16 years in a row.

And that's the second fact that they incessantly hammer into you every season.

If we were in their position, I would too.
It helps when you have almost no pro sports presence, as well as the fact that it's not really a hotbed for college football which is rare for the south, and you got the number one college basketball market. UConn has to compete with the Sox, Yankees, Knicks, Celtics, Patriots, Giants, Jets, Bruins, Islanders, Nets for sports viewers, and we do pretty well.

You would think U of L could afford highclass hookers for their recruits instead of those skanks.

A big chunk of that revenue is due to the women's program

Have you ever been down south? Those are the high class hookers, just be grateful they have all their teeth.
