Peyton Siva anyone?
Intensely disliked Siva. Those presses and cuts to the hoop. Think it might have been
because he was so disruptive, didn't seem to have any respect for us and maybe because
he was a real worthy opponent. Krauser, who had to be in his thirties by the time he left
Pitt, was a real pain in XZ#$+@# as well.

I hated him in a jealous way, I was kind of hoping he would somehow become an NBA gem on the pistons with Andre

I'll throw in Kerry Kittles and Preston Shumpert.

we made Shumpert look like a 1st team all american and a lottery pick

Preston Shumpert. Preston -freakin- Shumpert. May he rot in hell.

Im throwing Eton Thomas and his high socks into the mix. Every time he touched the ball my old man would say " Eton Thomas". Every time.

Honorable mention; Demetri Hill.

Ok, if it is the most hated (not hated in a respected-hated kind of way):
PG: Krauser
SG: Devendorf
SF: Artest
PF: Dudley
C: Laettner

respected-hated:
pg: Branin Knight/Lenehan (tie)
sg: Kerry Kittles
sf: Lawrence Moten
pf: Chevy Troutman
c: DeJuan Blair

Troutman, another player we made look great.

Blair could have been arrested for physical assault in some games

Devendorf, Artest and Dudley are alltime , although Dudley has grown on me a little bit recently

.-.
PG John Linehan
SG Allen Iverson
SF Jared Dudley
PF Danya Abrams
C Christian Laettner

I like this list, but it's hard to hate Danya Abrams too much when, over 4 years, he never once beat UConn. I mean, read the dude's Wiki page and it's almost sad:

-An unstoppable scorer, powerful rebounder and immovable defensive force, he led Boston College to the 1996-97 BIG EAST regular-season and tournament Championships and three NCAA Championship Tournament appearances during his magnificent collegiate career.

-A key contributor to the Eagles' "Elite Eight" finish in the 1993-94 NCAA Championship Tournament.

Devendorf and Blair have to make my list. Blair especially, more than almost anyone else really really got under my skin. I felt like he was allowed to flat out fight on the court without ever picking up a foul call just because he was undersized going up against Thabeet. I'll never forget him grabbing Thabeets arms and flipping him over his shoulder.

Where does Julius Hodge fit here?

The starting 5 in this case aren't necessarily the most talented, just the guys you hated the most

PG Troy Caupain
SG Eric Devendorf
SF Lawrence Moten
PF DeJuan Blair
C Christian Laettner
In the Gample, Nova is pounding us. With 5 seconds left, kittles is taking a 3 point shot.

.-.
How is no one mentioning Scottie Reynolds? Caupain is gaining steam...but I think I'd go with

PG - Scottie Reynolds
SG - Mike Gansey (he used to torch us...he wasn't even that good!)
SF - Preston Shumpert
PF - Jae Crowder
C - Roy Hibbert (when he hit that buzzer beater 3 I was ready to lose it)

Honorable mentions:
Devendorf
McNamara
Moten
Blair
Pittsnogle
Hansborough
Jeff Green

There's something I can't stand about the Harrison twins

Totally agree... cannot stand those two..... I have felt as though neither was very good - just my opinion.

Shumpert brings back nightmares. Artest was a tool. Mourning was tool. Eric Santifer was the only guy that played for 6 years in college... well it sure seemed that way...

I couldn't stand Zendon Hamilton... But the guys like Kittles, Moten, Rice, Blair and some others- I never hated them. I hated playing them b/c they were good and they always played us tough. I'd put Boubacar Aw on that list too. Hated playing against that dude b/c he tended to turn Ray into a puss. But Zendon Hamilton, Laettner, Devendorf, Jared Dudley? Hated those guys.

Yeah, it's surprising to me to see Kittles on people's lists. That cat was good!!! Props. It was that G-D sniper, Eberz, always standing in the corner, waiting for someone to double Kittles -- that guy I friggin' hated!!!

My lineup is small-ball and white, which is odd because I'm a 5'10 white guy.

1- Mike Nardi
2 - McNamara
3- Devendorf
4 - JJ Redick
5- Tyler Hansborough

krauser and devendorf , wow I'm wincing at the thought of those dudes. clearly the 'most hated' starting backcourt

I like you Categories
I hated playing Kittles but it would be wrong to put such a respected player with the Laettners, and Devendorfs of the world.

I remember seeing Pitt fans totally convinced that the play wasn't 100% dirty..... totally delusional.

Blair for ruining Thabeet's shoulder
McNamara for living
Devendorf for breathing

Easily my top 3, but hate them enough to count for 5.

If you look at current opponents: Troy Caupain, Nic the Dick, Marcus Kennedy...
Adding Kedren Johnson from Memphis, guy's a first rate scumbag on the court, spends every second acting and whining to the refs

Or a recent opponent, Sean Kilpatrick I think he's still whining about AAC POY and how they should've beaten UConn.

Love the Troy Caupain pick. Probably my current least favorite player in CBB.

Surprised no mention of Ryan Gomes, or Preston Shumpert.

Was about to post JJ Redick!!! Wouldn't shake our hands too. Laettner, Devo, playing Providence in general (as we are their Super Bowl it seems).

I covered Redick on page one.

Speaking of shaking hands, we were out on the Riverwalk, very late, outside of some bar after the 2004 semis and Duhon was kind of holding court with some ladies and other hangers-on around him. We had been stumbling around for a while alongside some other UConn ne'er-do-wells looking for trouble and one of the guys from among them strode confidently up to Duhon, giving off all the right signals of a Duke fan looking to shake his hand and give him some love. At the last second before he reached Duhon's face he launched into a beautifully horrifying, alcohol-fueled, expeletive-driven tirade about how badly Duhon sucked and had gotten punked, had his ass beaten by UConn, etc. It was one of the more impressive things I saw all weekend.

Pretty sure that the same guy walked straight into the river around the next bend, too, because he was so hammered.

Good times.
