This is a little old but I thought thought that it is a good summer thread. Note the distinct overrepresentation from Dook. Our Canadian friends make the list with Devo.

Did anyone hate Bobby Hurley? And Wojo was an annoying tool, but did that many people really hate him?
 
Grayson Allen is definitely number 1 for me with his cheap shot tripping. I had a soft spot for Marshall Henderson though. I remember ESPN doing a piece on him when he was at Ole Miss (the last of the 50 schools he played for) that made him seem likeable to me.

Is there a reason Tyler Hansbrough's brother Ben isn't on the list? He should be ranked ahead of Tyler.
 
We won a lot of games over the years and no representation on this list? Not sure what that says.

Grayson Allen is bad, but Laettner an easy No. 1. He wasn't just easy to hate, he won two titles.

Grayson Allen is my 1b. Definition of the word ‘punk’.

I’d throw Lawrence Moton and Billy Singleton (St John’s) on my list also.
 
Spud Webb. He was just such a wee little man. I hated his weeness. Really ground my gears.

Felt the same way. Fortunately Muggsy Bogues came along and Spud became a loveable giant.

I almost named my little rescue dog Spud precisely for his unusual jumping ability. But we went in a different direction and named him after a favored confection.

I'm also sort of surprised that one of our shot blockers aren't up there - blocks are so demoralizing for fans, and we were really good at it for a REALLY long time. Okafor / Thabeet / etc.

dook is still missing a couple names too - Scheyer might be in the top 5 on this board, in a year or 2. dook's Okafor was an overrated brute.

Yes and yes. The Puke on the front already gets you a general hate level from every Puke hater. Bobby had a very throat punchable face. I would struggle if UConn hired him and not Danny. Wojo was scrappy irritating and the nickname added to the hate.
Did any non-Duke fans actually like Bobby or Wojo?
 
Danny Ainge and Bill Laimbeer should be getting some hate for their incessant sniveling

Look him up on YouTube. He couldn't resist interacting with the opposing team's student section. His gator chomp at Florida is one of the more notable instances. I don't know if there's been a player that feeds off the opposing team hating him more than he did.
 
I thinking to be really hated, you should be more than just good. Like a punk or dirty or smug. Kerry Kittles saved his best games for us, I felt more grudging respect than hate.
