For whatever reason, some fans seem to think games played in 1899 or so still mean something today.

Well, UConn started the year ranked 27th all time in wins. Here were the teams immediately ahead and behind them:

We gained games on everyone on this list except Arizona, who had 33 wins to our 32. But we all know 4>1, and we have more Final Fours, so
