Horrible job by Barchi at the press conference today. No accountability at all. Also, Pernetti's letter says that "following review of the independent report, the consensus was that university policy would not justify dismissal." ESPN is reporting, however, that one of conclusions reached in the independent report was that there were grounds for dismissing Rice. There is something seriously wrong if that sort of behavior is not grounds for dismissal under "university policy."
 
If the BiG didn't kick out Penn State, they aren't going to kick out RU. I don't know how this will impact CVS, but I agree with Icebear that they will probably not want further upheaval. On the other hand, so much of what they have done in the past few years has been driven by the mandate to do everything as cheaply as possible, which has led to questionable hires and poor decisions. Maybe they have learned their lesson. Maybe not. Only time will tell.

The Big Ten was smarter than Emmert and the NCAA and realized the legal grounds for doing so were nebulous at best in relationship to the situation at PSU.
