I'm sure all can remember one of the highlights from back on Gampel Opening Night in 2009 when the panel of singers Lloyd and Amerie, and Shea Ralph and Donyell Marshall were asked to predict, "How many national championships will the UConn women's basketball team have by April 2015?"

At the time I thought they were all being too conservative and that Tonyc should have a little pep talk with them, but now as the 2015 New Year starts, I see they were just being realistic about the big bumps that can pop up on the road to the title.

They all knew what they were talking about I guess......Ten (10) is such rarefied air. Only The Wizard of Westwood knew what it felt like. Hopefully Geno will join that knowledge group of one(1) in the predicted year of 2015.

GO HUSKIES !!

It's extraordinary to think that with a win this April's NC, Geno would match Wooden at 10-0 in national championship matches. The odds of two coaches being each perfect in all ten tries seem like they would be astronomical, theoretically 2 to the 20th power, or less than 1 in a million.

But I guess with these two coaches, 1 in a million = inevitable.

Yeah, if they were flipping coins... but neither coach likes leaving anything to chance... :)

What? I did mention those "bumps," otherwise known as 2011 and 2012. Those were the sacrifices to the Mojo gods, and clearly the Huskies and their fans have suffered enough from the trials and tribulations of outrageous mojo fortune.
