Love the guy’s professionalism and class, and he reps the school well. We could do a lot worse. We also could a lot better. The numbers rarely lie. He has a losing NFL record and a bit better than average .610 winning record at UCLA. He was fired for being unable to deliver anything notable. We easily could be sitting at 3-0, instead of 1-2. It makes you wonder.

I don’t know if it is personnel, staff, preparation, lack of hunger but something is very troubling and Mora needs to step up now. It’s year 4 and we have managed to crap away a special season. On to Game 4. No more excuses.

Way too early to start this.
From where the program was to having a couple bad games is hardly putting Mora on the hot seat.

This is very different from what we’ve seen in the RE era. The team is competitive. We should be 3-0.
In the last two games, the team was in the drivers seat. The team has literally found ways to snatch defeat from victory.

Both games, team made the necessary late drive only to come up short and allow the game tying or go ahead field goal. Yesterday there were a handful of chances to secure the win and the team just puckered.

Learning to win is a process that this team doesn’t understand. The fact we’re losing these games in such a manner screams this is more mental than about physically competing.

Under HCRE, we couldn’t compete physically. Most games were over before kickoff.

I like this staff. You have to like what Mora has done even if the last two games were painful. Had the teams been blown out, I might have different feelings on Mora. But the team is competing. Just not finishing. This is fixable.

I like Mora. I like what he’s brought to the program. He bleeds blue and for that, he has my respect.

But is this as far as he can bring it? It might be. I was thinking that yesterday.. Does he have it him to make the types of adjustments in recruiting, X’s O’s, insight into the game that will turn us into a team that can start winning games that matter.

I don’t know. The jury is out.

I do know yesterday in addition to sloppy plays, our defensive scheme - we looked like a HS team out there in the 1st quarter. And by the end, we kind of looked the same except for some standout plays.

To me, the lack of discipline on that pass interference call - I am beside myself on that one. How can that play be made? That is beyond a single player but indicative of something bigger that’s going wrong.

All I will say - I am rooting for Mora but for the first time since he came here, I agree this is a defining year for him, and it should be. 4 yrs good run.

I'm very dissapointed in this teams inability to close out games, also undisciplined penalties. That is the next step for this team to overcome.

I have been through the darkest of times with this program, this season is still very salvageable, but we absolutely have to beat Ball State at home. Players gotta step up the coach's can't complete a game clinching pass, tackle, run or block for ya.

Would say it would be the time to have a players only meeting. You don't execute you don't win it's as simple as that. When you hear the words almost interception your probably going to lose.

I was at game yesterday. Brought back memories of my last trip to this region against Navy. It was that bad. So frustrated by fact that if we make any one of 10 plays in each of last two weeks we win the games and everyone is giddy. Winning is best deodorant. The team is in sack up time now. Will be interesting to see what direction we go.

I am concerned that we “fold up” and call it a day this year. We are on the brink here. The train left the rails when we could not stop a 4th and 10 against Delaware without pass interference mistake handing over the game. There is a “will to win” but we displayed a “will to lose” that frankly haven’t seen something like this since Edsall 2.0.

I haven’t looked at the stats at all but I felt our guys were out of control yesterday. Lots of smack talking, late hits, pushing etc. The overall feel was a lack of discipline. Maybe, it’s just me, but I don’t like what I saw in terms of self control and smart play.

It's too early to start this but Mora and Benedict should be having a lengthy conversation today about how losing to low and mid-tier G6 programs is 100% unacceptable. The only programs we should be losing to are P4 programs and the top 15-20 G6. The bottom fifty programs we have no business losing to.

I think Delaware is actually going to prove to be pretty good. They are solid across the board. You have to accept that they lost to a Colorado team that recruits on another level and it was at Colorado. Losing to to them decisively doesn’t mean much.

I bet Delaware is a top half team in CUSA. The experience and size is there and they have a good coach. I always thought this was a 50/50 game, as did others on the board. We knew they were going to be tough. We are just disappointed because it’s a matchup we should win and once again, the coaches made some really questionable decisions. I do not have any idea why we didn’t go for the TD on 4th down knowing there was a 95% chance they were going to get in the end zone.

I agree. What I saw was in closely contested game, 2nd half, Cam picked up 4 yards and then stood over his defender.

Ref gave him stiff talking to and Cam threw hands up like “what did I do” made a scene…

Cam we all saw what you did.

I am UConn through and through but IMO a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct was appropriate there.

And Cam you picked up 4 yards - big fan - but get a grip!

And you want to play like 8 P4 teams a season.

Next year's home schedule is going to be a bloodbath.
Just stop. This is our first loss to a G6 program in two years and it was on the road in overtime. Stop reaching. I don't want to play 8 P4 teams. I want to play 5-6.

Lack of prior success, lack of confidence, lack of ability all lead to the conditions you describe. The false bravado, being over aggressive, generally trying too hard and so on are the symptoms of those "lacks". Does the program have fear of failure or fear of success? It is a fine line. Those fears sometimes paralyze a player. "Relax and Win" was a great book written by Bud Winter back in the 60's. Studied training of fighter pilots and adapted it to training world class track athletes.

Do we expect to win? Do we deserve to win? Are we afraid to lose? Are we good enough? All questions running through the minds of players and coaches alike.

Winning those last 2 games would have done alot to create a looser more confident atmosphere. A blowout against "Testicle Tech" next weekend would start the healing. A win in difficult fashion would do nothing to allay those fears. Can't even imagine a loss.

First G6 loss since 2023 when we went 3-9 and that wasn't two years ago. We one year without losing to a G6. you are the one who is reaching. There is no reaching here. Glad you have dialed it back to 6 P4s. When you get to 2-3 you will have it right.

2023 was literally two years ago. We are spending more on football and revenue sharing for football than all but 2-3 G6 programs. We should be beating them. Never had it at 8.

You don't understand too much about how time is measured do you.

If we hadn't lost to a G6 in two seasons you could say what you said.

Two years does not equal two seasons.

Other than a notorious lack of discipline, this team is criminally unready in first couple of possessions.

The last PI was particularly egregious because a smart player would have just tackled the guy, and that was it. The pass was short.

It’s odd that Chadwick seems to have regressed.

2022: 6-7
2023: 3-9
2024: 7-6
2025: 1-2 start

These aren’t set the barn on fire records but they’re certainly not good considering how much we spend and who we play.

We salvage to another 7-6 season, fine - but it’s not getting us anywhere. We NEED to be talked about like a G5 CFB bid option, not just a non-bottom 10 team.
