So, I was doing some spring cleaning today and came across a stash of UConn goodies, including an order form for the 2004 Hartford Regional. Why is that mojoriffic? UConn played UCSB in the Sweet 16. You may recall UCSB had a 6-8 center and an awesome guard (April McDivitt) that posed a great challenge. the Huskies won that game - UCSB made them work for it - then defeated PSU on the way to the 2004 title. It was also the year the women & men won. Coincidentally, in 2004 the men began their hunt for the title in Buffalo, as they did this year, and won the title in Texas, where the Final Four is being held this year.

Again, a Sweet 16 opponent makes the Huskies sweat for a while. In looking at the UConn archives I see UConn had a marginally better 28-22 lead at half time over UCSB in 2004 but this year team had a better finish, winning 70-51 over BYU vs 64-55 over UCSB. The parallels continue!
