I voted Yes. In Christian Vital's speech before the pandemic he thanked the fans for being loud in that win vs Houston. So yes fans can help us.

I'm wondering if I need to hang myself in advance for this season.

After all, I am the only Yarder to have been hung twice, winning a Natty each time.

So when pulling for a threepeat, there is only one logical choice.
Silver alert! Someone call the rest home!

There’s a difference between influencing the game while there or just watching at home doing your mojo things. If Hurley feels better because he ate his M&Ms it may help him be in a better frame of mind and coach better. It could tangibly help. When doing mojo things at home you have to hope the power of mojo is out there in the universe. I can’t imagine my rituals would help at all if done alone. It would be way too inconsequential BUT a whole large fan base that’s not at the game doing their rituals(even if they conflict with another fans ritual) collectively can make a difference. I can’t prove that obviously but it just feels like the right answer to me. If it actually helps or not it makes me feel better to adhere to doing my part supporting the team.

Timing is everything, my friend. It has to be during the break between the big east tournament in the NCAA's. (I'm sorry to say I missed your hanging because deepster felt like I was too mean to him and put me on ignore. )

In any event...

I believe it would require a trial, complete with railroading by the masses, for the mojo to be extended. and it would likely have to be repeated before every game this year. Not sure the current Boneyard would embrace the procedure. Ain't like the old days around here no mo.

Coach Hurley demands from the players, he also demands of grad assistants, his coaching staff, everyone who touches on, or is touched by.

That extends to leaky balloon knots on internet fora (see what I did there?), or even those shut-ins watching the games in Mom's basement (Deepster).

Everyone is all in! Overt displays and demonstrations are encouraged/required.

You'll know what to do.

I didn't reply yet, but this is how I feel as well. I can't disbelieve something just because I can't see it.

Mojo = positive fan support. That is never a bad thing.
Disagree with this because the team could give a rats arse to what the volume on my tv is set to but it matters to me & team support is cheering them on in the stands and streets to let them know you root & support their efforts.

Who said the team had any part in this? Does the team control an opposing three pointer that rolls in, then mysteriously rolls out? Or when an 89% FT shooter misses 2 down the stretch? Or when our player gets hammered and tosses up a prayer that somehow goes in?

You're thinking small, young Jedi.

Nah, just old enough to know the difference

Much has been made about "dooming" the Huskies with bad mojo. Maybe it's true/maybe not.

Do you believe that the action of fans, or what they talk about, their rituals etc. has any outcome on the games itself? (I'm not referring to home games, and fan cheering as I believe being rooted for, in person, is definitely a huge factor. I'm talking about the "sports Gods" stuff. Lucky jerseys etc )

When framed like this, it seems dubious, but a lot of us, myself included, have participated in rituals for mojo purposes.
Im an atheist so believing in mojo would be hypocritical lol!

Do you remember being in line at a restaurant salad bar in Rosslyn, VA the day after we won our first NC? It was March 30, 1999. You were wearing a UCONN hat when you accidentally spilled your salad container. I was the other UCONN fan in line at the time and I was embarrassed for myself and UCONN Nation. That could be an offense worthy of a hanging.

Stranger-danger.

“Not only is the Universe stranger than we think, it is stranger than we can think.” -Werner Heisenberg,
Yes. To believe that you have an influence on the game by what breakfast you eat may seem arrogant, but more arrogant is the thought that you've got the universe figured out and that the concept of mojo is physically impossible, and since you can't explain mojo, even though your knowledge of simple physics is reduced to a layman's awareness of gravity, it must therefore not exist.

Exactly. And just because you cannot explain where the wind comes from does not mean it is not real.
