Much has been made about "dooming" the Huskies with bad mojo. Maybe it's true/maybe not.

Do you believe that the action of fans, or what they talk about, their rituals etc. has any outcome on the games itself? (I'm not referring to home games, and fan cheering as I believe being rooted for, in person, is definitely a huge factor. I'm talking about the "sports Gods" stuff. Lucky jerseys etc )

When framed like this, it seems dubious, but a lot of us, myself included, have participated in rituals for mojo purposes.

I recall an old radio / TV guy that use to cover the Yankees and was a fan.
The game was running late and he had an segment on the 11:00 pm news on a local channel
He left early to get their on time with the Yankees leading 5-2
He kept listening to the game in the cab and the other team scored and was threatening.
He told the driver “ Take me back I have to stop a rally”
I totally understood and I believe every real die hard fan of any team believes they can affect the outcome .
I can’t wear anything with a UConn logo on game day
That’s why they call us fans it’s an abbreviations for fanatics .

Mojo = positive fan support. That is never a bad thing.

At the moment, it's the anti mojo balloon knots on the fb board who do nothing to support their team.

I once kicked the coffee table in front of the couch out of frustration during a run by an unnamed upstate new york team.
I finished watching the game with my swollen foot wrapped in stretch bandage and elevated on the coffee table. We stopped the run and won by a comfortable margin. For the next two seasons or so, whenever a game got tight, I took my left shoe off and put the foot on the coffee table.
But I don't believe in MOJO. Not at all.
Unless the game gets tight, anyway.

My wife will not watch the games. She gets way too excited watching. When she did watch and they lost she had a strong feeling it was because of her watching (bad mojo?). The guilt trips have led to her having me give her a rundown after games complete with video tape and commentary. Seeing how worked up I get during the game she doesn't dare want to get caught up with that. We know we don't really affect the game but still ...........................

Sounds very much like Rizzuto.

I’m big on wearing the same gear on game days especially during March Madness and I suspect many others are the same.

In college I used to eat Count Chocula before every game. Couldn’t really tell if it helped or hurt my game since I was sitting on the pine.

I hear the worst of the anti mojo crowd are referred to as "leaky balloon knots." Think I saw it in the BY by-laws

Basically, this whole thread was trolling Deepster
I'm wondering if I need to hang myself in advance for this season.

After all, I am the only Yarder to have been hung twice, winning a Natty each time.

So when pulling for a threepeat, there is only one logical choice.

I voted Yes. In Christian Vital's speech before the pandemic he thanked the fans for being loud in that win vs Houston. So yes fans can help us.

Silver alert! Someone call the rest home!

There’s a difference between influencing the game while there or just watching at home doing your mojo things. If Hurley feels better because he ate his M&Ms it may help him be in a better frame of mind and coach better. It could tangibly help. When doing mojo things at home you have to hope the power of mojo is out there in the universe. I can’t imagine my rituals would help at all if done alone. It would be way too inconsequential BUT a whole large fan base that’s not at the game doing their rituals(even if they conflict with another fans ritual) collectively can make a difference. I can’t prove that obviously but it just feels like the right answer to me. If it actually helps or not it makes me feel better to adhere to doing my part supporting the team.
