The continuation - having missed the last game update:
Updates for game 27
Rebounds 5, Steals 1, Assist 3, Points 2
Update for game 28:
Rebounds 1, Steals 4, Assist 3, Points 9
Totals:
86 (3.1), 74 (2.6), 147 (5.3), 284 (10.1)
Projections:
Rebounds 123, Steals 105, Assists 211, and Points 405
So game 27 Moriah played a season low 16 minutes as Geno rested her for most of the second half. The result was one of her worst statistical games of the year and put a dent in her margin towards the 100,100,200,400 final stats. Probably a good thing to get the rest as she has been getting banged around a lot lately. The other positive of course is lots of time for Chong and Banks and they respond with really good games - Chong with her first career double double and Banks with a strong defensive game.
Game 28 - back to normal service with Moriah getting 31 minutes and having a more balanced game. Still in the black on all projections but very little margin for error. This is why there has only been one player to hit these numbers in history at Uconn. On the turnover front Moriah has been a little sloppier the past few games - up to 47 YTD and her A/TO down to a still outstanding 3.13. And don't look now, but on a fairly limited number Moriah is now hitting .370 from three.
Bria and Stefanie had stellar games with 24 pts each, Stef perfect from the field and Bria 8-12. Interestingly given a sort of blah game from Stewart she actually shot 6-9 so blah isn't that bad!
And very importantly while Chong and Banks didn't have the same kind of games as in game 27, they had good games which is exactly what they need to do. String together one game after the other of being productive and positive forces on the court. Stokes also is just doing well - 7 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks - nothing spectacular but solid production in the minutes she plays.
