Should make this poll more like the ND - UConn poll.

MSST over TX by 10 or 20 ;)

This is by far the most significant game so far for either team. Miss St. has been blowing everyone out; Texas has struggled a bit, including barely squeaking by Quinnipiac.

Texas will also be without Lashann Higgs (season-ending ACL injury) and Joyner Holmes (expected back from injury later this month).

One intriguing subplot is that former TxAM teammates Anriel Howard and Danni Williams will be facing off.

I'm looking forward to seeing this game in person :)

For channel surfers, TN plays OK ST at 4PM at OK ST on FS1. Does OK ST have a chance?

I'll just leave this here...

Sure, they have a chance. Tennessee has become notorious for playing down to its competition. But Oklahoma State just doesn't have the horses this year. They lost Goodwin, Jensen, and Coleman to graduation.

Don't know, but they don't have Loryn Goodwin anymore. She was a player.

I recall they had a good power fwd who I think is back.

ETA I'm wrong. Kaylee Jensen graduated. Braxtin Miller was an impressive young player last year. I need to watch this game. Better record it.

Their #3 scorer last year was freshman Braxtin Miller (11.7 ppg), who was selected Preseason All-Big 12 before this season. Against their cupcake schedule so far, Miller is leading the team with 18.5 ppg.

OSU did pick up a significant player in forward Vivian Gray, a sophomore transfer from D-II Fort Lewis College. She's currently averaging 16 ppg.

OSU must also get a huge rebounding game from senior forward Latashia Jones, who's averaging 12.5 rpg so far. Will be absolutely critical to limit Tennessee's offensive rebounding.

Vivian Gray had offers from Baylor and Texas out of HS, and was ranked 45 in 2017.

Not during UConn ND any other game yes but not this one for this one you will be judged:eek:

Thus far I think if Texas has Holme's this would be an even better game. She would challenge Howard guarding her.

Texas playing well, we are going to learn today if MSST is really elite.

Right now it’s the other Holmes—Jasmine, of Miss. St.—who’s having a major impact on this game. 7 points in the first 7 minutes.

But you’re right. Miss St. Is already killing Texas on the O-boards and Joyner could help a lot with that.

Danberry scores on a wide open short jumper and Texas calls timeout, down 18-9.

Why hasn't Collier come into the game? I really think she needs to put more size on Howard. She has too much experience and skill. Put some height there to help challenge her.

Good start for msu so far on the road

Playing some very good defense, offense is starting to heat up. Texas doesn't seem to have an answer right now on the boards.

She just came in. Quick 3 second violation.

Where is the hand in face emoji when you need it? Collier I was rooting for you!

End of 1st qtr MSST 18 Texas 9. Defense dominating this game, I really thought it would be offense that dominated.

Mississippi State looks good early, especially strong rebounding and defense. Definitely not the offensive team they were a year ago with Vivians but their guards (Holmes and Danberry) look very strong.

Texas just looks like they're going to struggle this year...still early but no flow offensively.

Collier entered the game for the last minute of the 1st quarter. The announcers said she was the #1 HS player last season...I thought that CW was...

If the announcers are supposed to be knowledgeable, when they put up the gaudy MSU stats, please inform the public qualify that Vic has played no one ranked ranked higher than 98 (Virginia). Let's raise the quality of the broadcast and actually be informative.

Who knew that MSU had a top-notch broadcast school for Anriel Howard to attend...
