What a pleasure to be around to watch Ms.Stewart at Connecticut for these past four years.I cannot think of more than a handful of players,in women's college basketball, who has the potential of giving us a highlight performance any night she wants to or has to.
Though there are times,as we look back, where she did something on the court, that made our jaws drop in awe,it is very hard not to pay attention to her play every game, for one never knows when those jaw dropping plays will happen, and, for me,missing one would be terrible to do.
I will surely miss her suiting up for a game at Connecticut, but,I think there is much more to come,in her future.
Again,it was a gift of gifts,to be a Connecticut basketball fan,and see one of the greatest,if not the greatest, college basketball player, right in the backyard,so to speak.

A couple of points of appreciation:
1. For me, the shocking thing for the past 3 years is the first game of the season, when I'm stung by how much Stewie has improved since the previous April. She always shows things she's developed over the summer. She never stops learning or improving.
2. A game like today demonstrates that she never takes a second off, while she's on the court. Her concentration is remarkable.

Stewie is in Olympic mode.

Great players take the game to the next level. Stewart I think has skipped a level. Stewart is in video game cheat mode.
How do you think she compares to EDD?

Because my own reservoir of superlatives to describe Stewie has run dry, I must look elsewhere for expert testimony.

Duke Ellington would characterize Stewie as being "beyond category."

Permit me to alter the subject gender to adapt what the immortal golfer Bobby Jones said of Jack Nicklaus:

"She plays a game of which I am not familiar."

EDD is a better shooter. And I haven't watched much of her as a pro, but based on what i saw in college, EDD does not threaten a team in as many ways on offense as Stewart does - she isn't as active, as good a low post player, or as good an offensive rebounder.
Defensively, I don't think she is as active or threatening either.
And my plug for Uconn and the coaching staff - you are seeing in Stewart as a senior, what you might have seen from EDD had she chosen to stay at Uconn for four years - a great player who was challenged to expand her game beyond her comfort zone while playing surrounded by other great players.
