Nneka is playing tonight apparently.

They just said Nneka has been battling mono this year. First I've heard that.

Zandalasini would have been a rising senior had she chose to play in the NCAA. Instead she's starting for the Lynx in a playoff game.

A recent and difficult diagnosis, apparently. She'll give all she has, whatever that is.

Maya playing PF tonight in the revised lineup with Cece playing the SF.

She was the #4 recruit behind Lou, Durr, and Shepard. Ahead of Pheesa.

The first half of the Phoenix-Dallas game spoiled me. This one is ugly so far without much scoring.

edited--watching Karlie and Sid on the sideline is more entertaining than the game itself

Picked up the pace slightly. 16-15 Minnesota after Q1.

I am not a fan of Nneka, but some things should be private. Why keep talking about her having Mono.

I didn't like it with Kaleena, and I do not like it now.

Just because you were told, don't mean you have to report it. #IJS

Lynx were up 11 and LA was looking dead in the water, but now it's tied. It's been all Gray and Nneka. Candace scored their opening bucket and then disappeared entirely.

40-37 LA at the half. Nneka w/ 16 and Gray w/ 14. Maya has 9, Fowles and Fagbenle w/ 8 each.

Gray and Riquna Williams are bombing away behind the arc, LA leading 54-41. Minnesota is in trouble. Midway thru Q3. They were leading 32-21 somewhere during Q2.

.-.
LA went cold and Minnesota got back within 5. LA shooting FTs w/ .2 seconds left in Q3.

Refs missed an obvious traveling call against Beard, but Coach Reeve and half the bench jumped out onto the floor while the play was still going. Isn't that a technical foul?

.-.
68-65 LA w/ just under 2 minutes left. Maya just missed a pair of FT.

edited--she's on 1-5 from the FT line for the game, what the heck?

Gray has been huge. 26 points. Nneka hasn't scored in the 2nd half and Candace hasn't scored since 7 seconds into the game. You would think there's no way LA would win given those 2 facts, but they are up 5 w/ 1:23 left.

You can hear Lobo's subtle bias against LA

Always irritates me when she is the commentator on LA games. Most positive comments by her come with some underlying negative connotations that are easy to read. Weird game though...LA is being saved by their guards tonight. Gray is just ridiculous in crunch time.

Lynx look toast. Dynasty is almost officially over...they had an incredible 7 year run.

LA was up 7, Fagbenle hit a big 3 to cut into the lead. She's been great tonight, 7-8 from the floor 15 points.

William's 3 rattled out late in the shot clock, on the other end Moore air balled a 3. 72-68 w/ 17 seconds left, LA possession.

So far 2/2 with predictions. Next up is:
Mercury at Sun—I think Phoenix wins this. The Big 3 for Phoenix is playing great and they’re a better team when they play their A game. Jonquel Jones has been on a tear though and if Jas Thomas is hitting shots it could be a good one.

Sparks at Mystics—real tossup here. I expect Parker rebounds with a massive night against Washington. Gray and Toliver are as clutch as anyone in the league...I think LA wins if they avoid their standard stretch where they settle for jumpshots. I think I picked Mystics in a diff thread but it really could go either way.

Why do you think lobo is biased against sparks?
Chelsea gray is just as clutch as any player in the league...she won that game 1v1

I half expect to find out that Moore has been carrying some sort of secret leg injury. Was not herself at all down the stretch, missing free throws and coming up way short on a 3.

Mystics vs Sparks should be an excellent game. Can Parker rebound and play better? She looked dead in the water at times tonight. Riquana Williams starting is the right move. If she can score consistently, LA is a tough out even with Parker playing slowly.

Chelsea Gray
The story of the game in 2 words. She had a bit of an up-and-down season, but she was huge tonight. Minnesota has not been able to match up with the L.A. guards the past couple of seasons.

For the Lynx, one bright spot was Temi Fagbenle. They need to get DRob back healthy and make a good draft pick. I’m thinking Ezi Macbegor may be available.
