Minnesota Lynx 2020

I think Meesseman is better when she doesn’t have to carry the load, otherwise Belgium would be a force in international basketball.

Well, Belgium may not yet be a force in women's international basketball, but the team made tremendous strides 2 years ago at the World Cup and that was largely because of Emma Meeseeman. After not qualifying for the 2014 World Cup or the 2016 Olympics, Belgium not only qualified for the 2018 World Cup but also finished 4th (after the US, Australia and Spain). Belgium crushed France in the quarterfinals by 21 points but lost to Team USA in the semis and the host team Spain in the 3rd place game. Belgium actually beat Spain in Group play.

Emma was the 2nd leading scorer in the tournament and made the all-tournament team. I attended the World Cup and Emma was fantastic and Belgium was the most exciting team to watch in the entire tournament.

If Belgium can develop some young players to give Emma some help, Belgium can become a force. The strides the Belgian team made at the last World Cup was largely on the back of Emma Messeman.

Christmas officially out for the season with an Achilles rupture.

Geez, I’m sorry to hear about Karima. She’s fun to watch and also a delightful person.

Lynx getting even stronger. Sims is back. Megan Huff is waived. Article does not say when she will play but I imagine it will take a few games to get into game shape. Crystal will ultimately come off the bench

Follow up.

This article gives a little morre detail on the time line, Forgot about the 2 game ban

Kent Youngblood of the Star Tribune reports that Sims joined the Lynx in the bubble on Thursday and could be available to play in approximately a week. Sims will have to go follow the WNBA’s quarantine COVID-19 protocol before she’s allowed to see any action on the court. However, once that’s completed, the 5’8 guard will have to serve a two-game suspension without pay due to a drunken driving charge she received last summer.

Can’t wait to see odyssey play! The only lady bear who hasn’t played yet this season is kalani Brown! Hopefully kalani recovers soon from covid

I hope she’s in good enough shape and doesn’t disrupt the current seemingly good chemistry. Maybe a gradual assimilation?

“They’re taking away things that I like to do a lot more, so I have to work on expanding my game and being able to go away from things that are my No. 1 option on offense,” Collier said. “I need to shoot more on the perimeter. … I have to be able to knock down shots to get them to commit a little bit more, and then later in the game I’ll be able to get back to (driving).”

Collier acknowledges as much, but has yet to put it into practice. Even Thursday, eight of her 12 shot attempts — and seven of her eight makes — were from in close.

“In Phee’s case, she’s limiting in the way that she’s willing to try to score, which is only to go to the basket,” Reeve said. “Everybody knows her schtick at this point.”

Glad Reeves is getting on Pheesa. She needs more confidence shooting from the outside. Hell, half the centers are shooting from deep without conscience.

If Maya comes back, then she’s the one. I don‘t like hearing the talk like it’s no longer Maya’s team.

I love Phee putting out tangible goals into the world but Stewie may have something to say about that.
If the MVP goal is part of a several-year plan, I'm OK with that. It's good to have a long term goal (as well as the mid- and short-term ones.)
