He was pretty well regarded in coaching circles- name had even come up for a few head coaching gigs. Will be interesting to see who Penny replaces him with, he was also an A+ recruiter:

Was douchey at Florida was douchey in the NBA was douchey at Memphis. Maybe he’ll it up on TNT next or just go directly to Summer’s Eve commercials.

Lead recruiter and the go-to guy for gameday decisions. The Penny experiment will not end well.

Can't agree with you

Yes, he was a punk at UF but what player on that team didn't have a swagger?

Miller had earned a reputation as a hard-working "team first" player who provided positive energy, even when injuries and other factors affect his minutes. He was lured to continue his career in Cleveland because LeBron knew what kind of influence he would have on the that particularly young Cleveland team. He ranks in top 20 all-time NBA for 3 pt percentages. When he was not injured he was a complete player and kept defenses honest with his ability to fill it up from the outside while having the ability to drive it to the hoop. He was a very good offensive rebounder.

At Memphis he was well liked by the players and he and Penny had so much to share as far as game knowledge and what is needed to get to the next level. Word has it that it was Miller who worked tirelessly with Precious.

Really liked Mike Miller when I saw him in AAU as a high school player. Big time scorer, always aggressive, always putting pressure on the defense. He had an "attack" mentality that defenders had great difficulty coping with.

Hmm former NBA-er gets off to a good start as a college coach, struggles and fires an assistant named Miller. Why does this all seem so familiar?
