46-41 Nova. 12 minutes and change to go. I felt like Nova was living off contested long 2 pt shots, but they were falling and every time UConn got close, they'd FUBAR it up.
Anywho, Mrs. Diesel came out to do a health and comfort check, and asked how it was going. I calmly explained Nova was up by a few but UConn had some things going for it in terms of ball movement and defense.

I also realized I'd been sitting feet propped up on the sofa, so I switched to the ultimate male position of sitting on the coffee table 4 ft in front of the TV. Results? UConn outscores Nova 32-10 the rest of the game. I'll leave it to the rest of you to debate causation vs. correlation. All I know is tomorrow night, I'm sitting on the coffee table all game.

My +\- was also far better when standing 4 ft from my TV than sitting on the couch. I think you’re on to something.

If it helps you have an obligation and requirement to do it.

Earlier in the game, I wanted somebody to smash a basketball in an opponent's face each time the opposing player had fouled for the second time on a particular possession.

I shifted to cursing out my phone keyboard mistyping and fouls not called on Nova.

I USED ALL CAPS. A LOT.

I didn't mind that my sister was a few seconds ahead of me, so that her excitements appeared on my phone the instant something good happened.

I went from hating the game to enjoying a result that ultimately fit with my not unreasonable desires to being genuinely happy that the closeout continued building. I think it ended up like what I asked for in my haiku.

I really liked seeing a well-managed 8-man rotation that held an opponent to 20 second-half points.

I was at the game +3. We tried at least four different seating formations until we finally found one that worked. You're welcome.

I have one of these for the NCAAs.

2023 1st round - Iona - we're losing at the half. As I host a big party for the first 4 days of tourney every year, I got up at halftime, and tended to grilling. When i got back, all seats were taken, so I stood in the doorway of my TV room, figuring I would need to tend to grill again, etc.

...I've since stood in that entryway for the entirety of the last 11 NCAA games. You're welcome.

Great win. Moved from my usual championship run seat position to watching from bed at halftime where I spent the next hour and a half silently wondering what would possess someone to name their son “Wooga”.

Also fumed at Nova only having three halftime fouls when they physically manhandled our guards for the first 20 minutes. Reminded me of the scene in The Waterboy where Sandler is learning to tackle someone and one of the players yells “I think he wants to make out with you!”. Basically the same defense…

Amen. Gus Johnson is horrible. I know folks love the guy, but he makes so many mistakes calling the game it’s painful.
I cracked up so loud when, late, UConn is up by like 12 or more and Gus goes, "UConn has led by as much as...errrr...9 points."

Good for you Chin Diesel.
My living room coffee table couldn't handle me sitting on it.

At halftime I switched to a closer position as well and put Crispino and Norman on the air pods synced with the TV. Mike actually talks about the game you are watching and none of the meta crap the TV guys always do that you’ve already heard 1000 times

We did some switching of our seats at the Garden. I believe that was the cause of the game ending run.
