Michigans top tackler LB Jake Ryan tore his ACL on Tuesday, they are not sure if he'll be ready to play in the fall.

Hope he recovers, wouldn't want to beat them at less than full strength.

Excuse my HFD-style rant, but I can't stand this mentality. A win is a win is a win. It’s unfortunate for Michigan and it certainly sucks for the young man but I'll guarantee UM isn't using Ryan's injury as an excuse if they lose. I'll also guarantee that their other opponents are figuring out how they can exploit this new weakness, not handicap themselves because of it. UConn should take every single advantage it can get, not 1fabricating reasons to ease up. That's how UConn lost to Temple and almost lost to Buffalo last year.

"Oh, we're up by 17. Let’s run the ball for 2 yards or less every play and go 3 and out. Let’s run our defense ragged and keep it close. We don't want to hurt their feelings. That's not sportsmanlike."

!!! This is not Pop Warner football. These kids are not 9 years old. Not everyone gets a trophy. Enough wins and people take notice. Enough people take notice and the Program gets exposure. Enough exposure and UConn gets in a more favorable position. We all want the favorable position.

I think you're misinterpreting jackl's statement. He wasn't saying he won't want to beat them when the game is played. He was saying that if he could choose, he'd want to beat them at their full strength.

Which is right and proper.

I want UConn to beat Michigan...period, no qualifiers. 16 Candles getting hurt or not. It's not like UConn isn't dealing with it's own issues and it not like a win vs the winningest team in the history of College football would be any less gratifying. No one will remember in 5 years. Do you think they care that Greg Lloyd Jr. wasn't 100% in Ann Arbor? Did they give UConn back the ball on the goalline when Shoemate fumbled (Here you go. Try again)? No and No.

In fact, he will probably handicap UM if his does play. No way he's 100% in 6 months.

That said, I hope he makes a full recovery, plays again, and leads a prosperous life.

It was said in jest, I want the Huskies to whip some butt just as bad as any other Uconn fan.
