I am not above benefiting from a mass case of food poisoning, not this year.

He had the most hype coming out of fall camp until his injury so it's definitely a loss, although that's mostly because the WR position is relatively thin at Michigan for another year or two.

Injury knocks starting Michigan DB out at least two weeks

>>Michigan lost a starting wide receiver earlier this month to a season-ending injury. While it’s not as serious as that, the injury bug has now bitten the Wolverines on the other side of the ball as well.

UM head coach Brady Hoke confirmed Monday that starting safety Courtney Avery underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee Saturday. The procedure and subsequent rehab will keep the senior off the field for at least two weeks.<<

Michigan v ND is a very watchable game for UConn fans this year. Hope he recovers and they win ugly against ND.

Now a running back... But not a huge loss unless others get dinged up.

Michigan loses No. 2 RB to torn ACL

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/09/02/michigan-loses-no-2-rb-to-torn-acl/

"Listed as the No. 2 running back on the depth chart, Drake Johnson will miss the remainder of the 2013 season due to injury, head coach Brady Hoke confirmed Monday. Johnson suffered a torn ACL covering a second-half kickoff in the season-opening win over Central Michigan."

"With Johnson’s injury, true freshman Derrick Green has officially slid into the No. 2 spot on the most recent depth chart. Green, a five-star member of UM’s 2013 recruiting class and rated as the top back in the country, led the Wolverines in rushing in the opener with 58 yards in 11 carries. Junior Thomas Rawls and freshman De’Veon Smith could see their roles increased beginning this week against Notre Dame."

I was at the CMU game Saturday. Michigan has like 5 running backs and they're all pretty good.
