Miami’s Earl Timberlake in Transfer Portal

Seton Hall was a finalist last time around, wouldn't be surprised if they got involved again

And just like that, Miami's 2020 recruiting haul is gone (Cross to Louisville, Timberlake in portal).

The 6'6 215 top-40 recruit averaged 9.3p, 5.0r, 2.4a, 1.7s, 44.9 fg% (only 7 3PAs) in 27.4 mpg in his 7 games played before injury. All but one of those games were ACC games, so his stats hold up.

Sounds like a good Tyrese Martin replacement after sitting out the 21/22 season.

COMPARISON

Deonte Burton

An advanced physical specimen. Powerfully built with some quick twitch explosiveness as a 6-6 wing. The lefty can get where he wants on the court and is a good playmaker. Manufactures buckets but has room to improve as an outside shooter. Is a great rebounder for his position. Scores on putbacks and can start the break. Imposing and versatile defender who should develop into an NBA draft selection.

At Hoophall I thought he was one of the top 5-10 players. I really liked Cross and Timberlake at Miami and thought Miami was on the way to excellence. Now not so much. Keep in mind he played with Hunter Dickenson. Would not surprise me if Michigan was in play. He should be an impact player based on what I saw.

I thought it was between Miami and UNC
Has he been hurt? He hasnt played since mid January
Good rebounding and point output but lots of TOs
He would fit in but maybe not Hurley type kid
