Whichever JUCO ends up losing the starting QB job, he'll probably transfer out.. Why would a JUCO want to sit behind another one for a year or 2 knowing his college playing days are shorter already???

Yeah, except they will end up wasting another year of eligibility in the process.

Stating the obvious, but when ODU beats us out on two JUCO QB’s, in a short timeframe, something is wrong. Chief doesn’t sugar coat things.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought year after year of lower division CAA classes seemed odd.

.-.
Any JUCO anywhere has to beat someone for playing time. Doesn’t really matter if it’s another JUCO or someone on the roster.

Not disagreeing. Disappointing is an understatement. To lose both to the same school, is a little mind boggling.

You know what is upsetting? UMass getting the Mazzotti kid on campus the week before us. Now the kid may not make his official visit here and may instead go to San Diego State on an official instead of coming here.

Quite frankly, that's not getting it done.

To steal a line: they couldn’t recruit people out of a burning building.

San Diego State has a beautiful campus, in every respect.

Perhaps those guys didn’t feel like UConn was a good fit. Or they didn’t feel like a starting spot was guaranteed. Lots of reasons why a kid chooses one school over another. Weather, location, etc.

The love fest the staff seemed to pour on Messiah leading up to his visit which was just a couple days ahead of the 1/15 juco mid year deadline, only to lose him to OD is more than a bit curious. Wonder which party did not enjoy the one on one interview during the OV. One thing we never really know is when a program pulls an offer. Kids don’t broadcast pulled offers very often.

I don’t need to know the skinny on most recruiting sagas - but this one is different.

The film looked pretty good on the kid...he was ranked fairly highly by 247 and Rivals out of high school as a Pro style.

6-5" and 220...led his team to the JUCO National Championship at 12-0. The #3 JUCO QB.

I'd say it was a miss more than a release...unless there is another big, seasoned QB coming that we don't know about.
