Merry Christmas: Up Two Spots

Uconn's on it's way up. Once we get by Marquette and Creighton, both wins, we will have jelled into a cohesive unit to be reckoned with. Our freshmen are the difference and with Paige, Aaliyah, Nika and Audrey we have scoring power and our defense will do the rest. Uconn is now a contender for whatever it wants and it wants NO12. GO HUSKIES!!!!!

Teams 14-17 are separated by only 15 points. There is a huge gap at 13-14 and at 17-18.

I'm not a fan of Ohio State in any way, but to drop 4 spots after losing by 6 to UCLA seems odd.
The polls, in their infinite wisdom, tend to drop teams for a loss even if it was to a higher-ranked team. Washington, similarly, fell from #23 to just outside the top 25 after losing at Louisville.

Jacy Sheldon was the only one who really showed up for Ohio St. She was outstanding.
Taylor Thierry also had a very good game with 20 points and 4 steals. What killed them was that McMahon, who's otherwise been excellent, and Taylor both had really bad games, shooting a combined 3 for 21.

How can LSU be ahead of Colorado when they lost to them 92-78 while, Colorado's loss was to NC State, both were on neutral courts. LSU was ranked #1 and Colorado was #20 in their win. While in their loss Colorado was #3 and NC State was ranked at #10. Massey has Colorado's SoS as #26 vs LSU's #97.

Because that was LSU 1st game of the season and they weren't playing as they should...I saw LSU beat VT easily. I feel LSU is a top 3 school if not #1

You know South Carolina has beaten 4 ranked teams, 3 on the road, right?

LSU is ahead of Colorado in both NET and Massey, FWIW.

Holding a top-16 ranking will give us home games for rounds 1 & 2 of the NCAA Tournament. Then we can start shopping for hotel rooms in Albany for the Regionals.
The rankings don't determine the tournament seedings.

We’re inching up. Convincing wins over Marquette and Creighton will help.
Heck, I ain't worried about the rankings but a win over those two teams would be a huge boost for the confidence of the players and fans. If am a player on that Marquette squad or a member of the coaching staff, I would use that slight bump (from #23 to #18) as extra motivation. Knowing that some teams are looking at 2-4 losses and here Marquette is undefeated but other teams are ahead of my program?

I guess I don't understand nuthin'. I would have expected UConn's ranking to go up after a convincing victory over ranked Louisville and to stay the same after victories over pretty-good Butler and a non-NCAA team. Maybe this explains how so many teams with cupcake schedules are highly ranked. ;)

Pssh, like that matters!

UCONN had the privilege of losing to the number 2,3 and 5 teams in the country. How lucky to get those teams starting out the season. In my mind they should be top 10 . at least 9.
