Currently down 1-0 to UCF after a goal in the 76th minute, 7-6 and 2-1 shots/shots on goal in favor to UCF. This would be an absolutely terrible loss, UCF is currently 3-8 (1-3).

Headed to OT tied at 1, UCF's lead was short lived as Awuah put in a rebound in the 81st minute to tie the game. UConn has a 9-8 shot advantage and sog tied at 3 a piece.

Game over in the 93rd minute UCF 2-1, absolutely terrible loss for the huskies.

No question it is a bad loss, after an excellent win against Boston College. South Florida beat Memphis tonight. It will be very difficult for UConn to win the regular season championship over USF as the Bulls now have a game lead in the standings and also hold the tie breaker over the Huskies since they beat UConn in Storrs. That is significant since this season the regular season champ gets to host the four team AAC tournament.

been following UConn soccer since mid 60's
this type of loss has become almost a norm for UConn over past half dozen years

It's been going on as long as Reid has been here with a couple of exceptions. His style, which I variously describe as anti-soccer, loser's soccer and paranoid soccer, actually allows less skilled opponents an even chance at a win.

Yeah, that brand works OK if you have adept ball control and passing on all 11 on the field
Errant and lazy passing and the fact that they seem to play over the midfield too often leads to lesser teams picking up garbage goals
It's also not a good visual display

While I have seen no more than 10 UConn soccer games since I graduated back in the '90's, I agree based on the box scores and news stories. All of which is surprising as my HS teamates and I would often head down to New Haven to watch Reid's SCSU team back in the day and they played a very aggressive, fluid game.
