So UConn flew to the west coast and flew back Monday and instead of getting one of the 3 Saturday games they have to play Friday? That seems fair...
If an event is 'streamed' does that mean it can be watch later too? (I'm going to the mens bball game tomorrow night)
You spelled it wrong.Gooooooaaaaallll!!!!! 1-1. Nice goal...
Gooooooooooooalllllllll!
The foul that set-up UVA's corner that they got goal #2 on was complete BS, the UVA guy was playing on all fours bouncing the ball off both arms and the UConn player simply tried getting the ball away.
^^^ This!! He called a foul presumably 10 seconds after it had happened, after having given UVA "advantage" and watching their player make a mess of it off of both his arms. It was a brutally bad decision that we ultimately paid for.
Having said that, we just couldn't finish opportunities in the final third. The crosses had to be better, and Diouf had a tough game today. Nobody could link up with Larin, who looked like he was on an island...
I watched the game with no sound. It seemed every time there was a collision of two players the call went against Uconn. The way the Virginia players were flopping to the ground I thought I was watching Duke basketball.
Just as fair as having to play on the road against UMBC, despite being much more highly ranked, then landing the #1 overall seed on the road. So far, it's working for us.
My understanding is that UMBC was ranked eight in the country while Connecticut was 10th. UMBCs head coach was actually pretty disappointed to get such a low seed (16) and to face such a good opponent in Connecticut early on
The NSCAA, which is what the NCAA uses for rankings, had UMBC ranked #5 and UConn ranked #21. Looking at UMBC’s schedule, hard to swallow that.
By the way, did any one catch the video clip of the NCAA DII final between Southern NH and Carson-Newman? Looked like a full MMA cage match with just under 2 minutes to go and the Red Cards went flying as fast at the karate kicks.
Such lack of sportsmanship. I would expect better from a DII program which tends to stick more to the values of amateurism and sportsmanship but to throw those punches and kicks on a DII National Championship is an embarrassment. C'mon..
