What do people think about the choice made by the olympic committee?

I simply can't watch sports where performance is completely based on subjective judging. Too painful. :(

I was happy Adam made it.

I like Nathan and hope he can win a medal. Vincent is very talented too and comes across very mature for his age in the interviews I've seen of him.

27 years ago commentators and pundits started complaining when the real compulsory skating of figures was eliminated as part of Figure Skating. About that time came the worship of spinners. Not spinning on the ice like Sonja Henie (which is also a lost art), but tours in the air. Now it's all about the spinners. I use to love watching how skaters could somehow precisely trace exact figure 8's over and over. But judges started to complain that they couldn't tell the difference and it was getting harder and harder for them to discern who was the superior tracer. Now spinners rule, and it shows with the judges choices for the team. Yeah, they chose the best for modern skating since the Russians seem to be putting out spinners by the droves. But to me, Mr. Old School, I miss the art of it. It isn't "figure skating" at all, but speedy quad and maybe soon, quintuple spin and jump skating.
