Lol, I moved away from the area in 1990 and the big thing then was Gordon Biersch. A quick google search reveals that they reinvented themselves as Dan Gordon's in 2016 and then closed permanently in April 2020.

Found a decent Chinese place called Phil’s

Good beer bar and solid burgers at Refuge

Both in Menlo Park

Yes, I'm aware. There is one in New Orleans, to which I have never been., and I have seen a few in airports. Last time I was in one was probably around 10-15 years ago in the San Jose airport when I was out there for work. I recall that it was not very good for either food or beer, so either my tastes changed or they went downhill.

I don’t think I’ve been to the one in SD but they have a decent reputation from what I can tell

I went there fairly often because the light rail near my rented condo stopped near the San Jose Gordon Biersch. Pre-Uber that was pretty useful. I saw one in Vegas once.
