2nd year in a row I made this bet on Draftkings. Was able to place it when I went to Gonzaga game Saturday

Women + 300

Men + 1,900

Parlay + 7,900

Let's go Huskies

Since the men beat the Zags and the women destroyed ISU, the current odds may not be as good

I think the women are favorites, and legitimate.

They won't have to play a true road game and it won't be played in December

I think the odds on the women get longer and the odds on the men get shorter over the next few weeks. Parlay might still be the same. Just my .02

We have the 6th best odds to win right now on the men’s side according to Fanduel. What’s surprising is that Houston is 5th. The metrics love them some Houston, where this year they already have lost all 3 of their quality OOC games with a best win against a fairly meh ND on a neutral floor. Sampson has mastered the art of crushing bad teams. How they’re still the 4th best team on KP is beyond me.

I think the women's odds are too short. They didn't move after we lost to Notre Dame. I think there's not as clear a favorite as in prior years.

We'll know more after the USC game on Saturday, and then again in February against Tennessee and South Carolina.

I'll have a better idea of the women's chances after they play SC in February assuming they have some of their injured players back by then, and hoping they don't lose current players from their main rotation.

Exactly! They just don't have enough, imo. As great as Bueckers is, I think she falls short of the Stewie, Moore, Tarausi level.
If they’re healthy, they can win it…but that’s a big “if”.

Last year the men won at + 1,300. Very profitable wager

And the women lost in the semis in large part because a ref made a hero call with a few seconds left. Although I don't think they beat SC. And Geno was down to playing 6 people at that time.

Of course this year's team has a chance. A great chance. Hence they're one of the favorites

How many games have you watch so far this season? They've played 11.

I'm just trying to gauge how informed your opinion is as to the full roster, injury status, etc.

Obviously, when the question is as narrow as whether a particular team will win it all or not, let alone 2 from one school, the odds will almost always favor a No answer.

...and then there's Brady, Chen, Arnold, El-Alfy, Samuel, Chelli and Ziebel with a couple more expected back in the lineup in January.
Geno is coaching and giving interviews with awareness that everybody will have to keep improving throughout the season to have a winning final weekend. Not there yet, no guarantees, and staying healthy is a huge big deal, but I've never seen so many different lineuos tested. Well worth watching.

This is what I was preaching on the W board after the Notre Dame loss, in big games that offense needs to run through Paige and Sarah, not trying to "system" your way to a win when the talent level is high on the other side. Geno reminds me of Kerr over the years of just not putting the ball in your best player's hands(Paige<>Steph).

I watched UConn women’s games religiously during Paige’s freshman year - it felt like she would do something new every game that would make me say “whoa” - particularly as a passer.

She has very strong, efficient numbers now. But I have to admit that I don’t really enjoy watching her play much any more. She basically has devolved into a mid range jump shooter who maybe has one highlight assist every other game. Maybe they’ll unleash her skill set more as the year goes on. But Strong is probably more fun to watch these days.

Yes. But I've been watching this team closely since Kerry Bascom. Hot take maybe and I will be thrilled to eat crow. But my gut tells me that they don't have it. Bueckers will need to be Taurasi great and I don't think she is.

Paige carried the team to the National Championship game as a freshman without Dorka or Azzi. And this year she has Azzi and Sarah.
She also carried her team to 2 other Final Fours. She is totally capable of doing this. Do we forget the Elite 8 game against North Carolina State? One of the greatest single game performances in NCAA history.
