The men's organizers picked Indy, where the Final Four was planned, so I would think San Antonio would be the logical place for the women, although logistical issues are important.

Seeing how I doubt Indianapolis can handle the fans of 68 teams I assume that no or very few spectators will be allowed. That being the case then it might not be wise to put the tournament in a city with a high level of visitor traffic. Why tempt the players with warm weather and outside distractions? Since there can be no delays/postponements if a team has a positive test then we could end up seeing forfeits. A forfeit in round 2 isn't so bad but one in the semi-final round would be a PR disaster.

I think it would be great right here in Las Vegas. They could house all of the teams in one resorts like the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. They could play the games at the Thomas & Mack, Cox Pavilion, New Orleans Arena, and the Aces home court at the Mandalay Bay.

I would think a location in the South might be considered due to the weather implications. Can't be sure that winter weather will be over by late March/early April. (I am assuming that the time frame will be the same as it was in the good old days.)

I'm sure Las Vegas has no winter weather....if they choose to have it there... what @MSGRET said.

Women's NCAA tournament should do the same, just like WNBA has done this year to stay in one place.

Las Vegas does not have 12' snow drifts, but they do have very cold weather at times, especially at night.

Great idea because..................we don't want another canceled tournament. The NCAA can't go 2 years without a women's basketball tournament. If you recall, the president of the NCAA assured us there will be a tournament this year. They can hold it in a bubble in a large arena, convention center or hotel complex, or a phone booth, just as long as they have one.

The players and coaches want/expect to have one, as do the fans. If not in person, then on TV. Every game should be on TV.

The WNBA has already cast the perfect mold for a tournament bubble. NCAA officials already know what works, and what won't. Travel (expenses) will be greatly reduced for everyone. They can keep the teams isolated and away from other teams until the tournament is concluded.

What is the NCAA going to do to insure that player(s) on teams don't go to Indianapolis won't test positive upon arrival or during the tournament. What is the NCAA going to do about Contact Tracing. Unlike football if one BB player tests positive, then most likely the majority of the other plays on a team will be placed in Contract Tracing protocol which would mean player(s) would not be able to play for 14 days.

In Football, if a player gets identified due to Contract Tracing they are ineligible to play for 14 days. What's dumb about the rule, if the player that caused the player(s) to go into contract tracing protocol later tests negative for Covid on subsequent tests, the players are still required to sit out for 14 days.

The NBA bubble proved that you CAN have a workable environment for basketball for an extended period of time. The NBA did it for months. The NCAA would only be required to do it for 15-20 days playing every other day. After the first round (assuming all 64 teams can play in the first two days) of play, the field is cut in half. The field will be much more manageable after that.

I would imagine that if a player/coach tested positive, the entire team would have to leave the bubble and forfeit their remaining games for the safety of the other teams. You can't postpone or put any scheduled games on hold. In horse racing if a horse can't answer the bell, they get "scratched", but the race is still run. I'm not saying that is what will happen. It's just a thought.

I was thinking Hartford, CT for the women... ;)

Hey, why not at Mohegan Sun...that would go over well for everyone here.

Actually, the first city that came to mind was Charlotte. That would be an ideal location.

I would love to have them over for a BBQ, but I don't know if my better half would let me. Maybe I could get the Santa Fe Stations Casino to host them at The Charcoal room. I'd have to talk to my Casino Host to see if he would comp me for the team.:D

Could you imagine if UConn arrived, tested positive, and then had to forfeit to 15 seed Robert Morris on the first day? There would be an asterisk next to whoever won the tournament -- but I don't know that there's a good solution to that particular issue.
