Memphis has a deep, athletic team. Tonight they were missing a couple of their frontcourt players and it showed as the frontcourt not look particularly impressive. They have two very skilled guards with point guard skills and three other guards were more wing types, but particularly good at finishing on the break.
They love to show a full-court press with an emphasis on getting steals, and mostly played man-to-man defense in the half-court. In the half-court, they had difficulty staying in front of anyone with the ability to drive and frequently gave up layups at the rim.
They love to throw deep outlet passes, and didn't seem to care if turnovers occurred. Their finishing and execution on the fast break was quite good (ither than reckless full court passes) but in half-court sets they seem to emphasize only one on one plays.
UConn should have exciting games with them, of course we are doomed, clearly DOOMED.
