good for Men's hoops. not sure about anything else lol...

their football team was 2-10 overall, 1-7 in C-USA. pretty bad in a mid level conference. their WHoops team is better - 17-5 overall, and 7-2 in the conference. they seem like they'd certainly be a mid level BE team for starters... they lost to SJU by 4 and beat Seton Hall by 9...

interesting to see UCONN playing in Tennessee again!

Geno is really going to have to work hard to get us meaningful games in the upcoming years.

IMHO it's just a matter of time before the hoops and football schools split. since SDSU and i forget who else (Boise STate or Navy) only joined the BE for football, it will leave something like 10 total schools for all sports (UCONN, RU, L'ville, Cinci, SMU, USF, UCF, Houston, Memphis, Navy), that would be 18 home and home in the BE. currently there are 16 games.

if the football grows to 12, they could split it into 2 conferences and do home/homes for one side, and alternate on the other side for 16 total games again. UCONN could still schedule WVU, or any other former BE team if they wanted a good game. our OOC schedule wouldn't change. losing PItt and Syracuse doesn't really hurt the SOS, altho WVU is consistently a better team.

So, will our new conference name be the "super collosal mammoth gargantuan ever-expanding big-bang all universe conference"? Seriously, this is just getting ridiculous. Football schools need to split and leave the bb onlies in the dust already. It will be sad to see it happen, but this is long past out of control.

This is wild - will the Big East become the first 'super confernce' 20 members and coast to coast/north and south? It will still be a pretty mediocre football conference, but it could become pretty attractive in terms of national coverage. Or are they expecting more shoes to drop in terms of other teams leaving and just lining up the replacements early?
