In 2013...

Pretty good for men's hoops, i'd say, but not for women's hoops. football? ugh. 2-10, and 1-7 in C-USA.

I shoulda put a ? mark at the end of the title since it's not official, but reports are apparently coming out that it's going to happen...

Does that make Louisville to join B12 official or does it have no bearing?

Word has it that Con USA, Mid-American, and 6 other conferences are in discussion with the Big East to form a mega 70 team conference with every conference member to play every other member once every 5 years in an effort to promote rivalries. The league will include a side bar schedule of games involving teams that are not being permitted to leave until their opt out period ends, all such games being played in South Bend against Notre Dame, which has formed its own 10 team conference all of whom are Notre Dame, making scheduling easier and harder at the same time. The bearded lady at the carnival is less of a curiosity than this era in college sports.

This is a bright, blinking neon sign from the Big East that they think Louisville is all but gone to the Big 12.

No way Ville leaves now. Didn't you hear? We added Navy.

finally i felt they should've added memphis as soon as cuse pitt and wvu were out

I wonder what the "Grey Avenger" thinks of all this? After all, they fight like tigers.....

I recall reading five or six years ago about how the Big East had no interest in Memphis or Central Florida because of their weak academics. Funny how people get better looking at bars at last call.

Since the ACC claims to add schools for academic compatibility, the BE decided to do the exact opposite and see what happens.

The article says that Memphis will join the Big East in 2013. Does that mean they join cbb this fall/winter (2012-2013 season)?

Does this also mean that this is the last season with Syracuse and Pitt?

I've taken courses at Memphis years ago and while I'm sure their SAT scores (terrible way to judge) are not as high as UCONN, their academics are fine. Science courses were every bit as challenging as a BE school I wager. My wife got a masters in education and said it was the equal of her college in New York . It's a suburban city college NOT a community college. The campus is large but not impressive looking, kind of like UCONN before the renovation, but they may have done the same thing by now. They may allow some students in that wouldn't get into UCONN, but that doesn't mean those students graduate or pass courses if they don't perform. I bet it's as good as West Virginia or St. John's.
