At this point the top 5 teams in the conference can't be losing games to the bottom 5 teams. The bottom 5 teams have no shot at the NCAA Tournament (barring a miracle in the conference tourney) so might as well get all the top 5 in. The bottom 5 probably won't even be in the NIT.
